My thrusts are wild. She’s bouncing underneath me, her eyelids half down. I force myself to slow down lest—

“Don’t.” She grips my biceps. “Harder.”

That’s probably the most erotic thing I’ve ever heard. So I speed up again, claiming her, giving myself to her. We share breath and heat until her inner muscles contract in a grip so tight, it borders on pain. Her fingernails sink into my arms as she pushes her breasts up. I take the offer and bend to lavish them without breaking my pace. The orgasm makes my body quake, and I have to break the kiss. She screams. I can’t speak. My mind is going numb with pleasure. We hold each other in the mess of crumpled bed sheets, her warm breath on my neck.

“How’s my situation with the mortgage?” she asks, caressing my chest.

“Oh, love, this is the tip of the iceberg.”

HONESTLY, I SHOULDN’T enjoy sacking Vance this much. But I do. Watching him turn the colour of a turnip is addictive.

“You can’t get rid of me.” The roughness in his voice might be due to his smoking habit, or maybe not.

“I just did, Vance.” I shove the document at him that carries more signatures than a bill at Parliament. I have to thank Phoebe and Liam for their legal help. They prepared the documents that are giving me back a piece of my life. “It’s all in there. Martin is going to be my manager from now on.” In fact, Martin already found me a role in the next adaptation ofNorthanger Abbey. I got Henry Tilney’s role. Mum cried when I told her. The director isn’t as famous as Rebecca. In fact, he’s a no-one. And the budget is ridiculously low. But who cares?

“This is unfair. You are who you are because of me.” He beats a fist on his chest.

“You tried to ruin my life by threatening the woman I love. Threatening me is one thing. But threatening Sienna…” I shake my head. “How the hell did you get that video anyway?”

He scoffs. “Seriously? That’s even more insulting. The police have it, and many officers are sensitive to the opportunity to be an extra and work with some hot celebrities.”

I should’ve guessed. “Goodbye, Vance.” With nothing else left to say, I stand up and leave the office, ignoring his coughing and cursing me.

Why the hell didn’t I sack him before? Freedom is amazing. I can’t stop smiling while I drive to Tyler’s clinic. With his usual enthusiasm, Dart precedes me and barges inside the clinic, scaring a cat in a carrier and a Jack Russell. I pause at the front desk where Sienna and I kissed for the first time. Tyler is behind it, wearing a pair of blue scrubs and a…smile? Am I dreaming?

“Sienna?” I ask.

He jabs a thumb towards the staff room. “There. Get out of the lobby before people start recognising your ugly mug and snapping pictures.”

“Right-ho.” I’m halfway through the room when he grabs my arm. My instinct is to close a fist and punch him, but I turn to him. “What?”

“She can’t stop talking about how amazing her new therapist is.” For the first time, his harsh features soften when he’s staring at me. “Thank you.”

“It was her decision. I didn’t do anything.”

He releases my arm, and blood circulates again through my muscles. “It’s sad I don’t have to kill you now.”

“It’s sad you think it would be easy.”

His mouth twitches into something that might pass as a smile again. “Go to your girl.”

I don’t need to be told twice and enter the staff room. Sienna is typing behind the desk but rushes to me and, with a leap, wraps her legs and arms around me.

“Yes, that’s how I want to be greeted by you from now on.” I kiss her hard, grabbing her arse and taking her to the bathroom.

“How did it go with Vance?” she asks between kisses.

“He’s out of our lives.” I shut the door behind me with my heel while kneading her firm bottom.

“What are you doing?”

“Your payment is overdue.” And then I rip her clothes off.
