“Riley is ashe, not a he, Leo. And if you had taken the time to get to know her rather than paying Kylie off with a million dollars, you would know that.”
What the fuck? Is Kylie dating a girl? There’s no way. No way in hell. I had sex with her too many times to know that she enjoyed it, enjoyed me—a man.And what’s this shit about a million dollars?
“I’ve never paid Kylie off for anything, much less with a million dollars. I don’t know where you got this information, but you’re dead wrong.”
He regards me carefully like I’m crazy.
“There’s a million dollars in a trust for Riley. Kylie told me you gave it to her to be rid of her and Riley. It seems believable to me.”
Are we in a twilight zone? None of this is making any sense. Why would I part with a million for this girl? This girl and Kylie.I don’t understand what he’s going on about.
“Kason, why would I pay Kylie a million dollars for this Riley person?” I’m exasperated as he’s talking in circles.
Kason crinkles his eyebrows. He must recognize I’m completely confused because his demeanor suddenly changes, and he sighs. “Let’s have a seat in the living room. I think we have a few things to discuss.”
He thinks? I think too.
I grab my coffee, head into the living room, and take a seat on the sofa. Kason sits next to me. “Do you remember Kylie telling you about her being pregnant?” he asks in a calmer manner as he searches my eyes, seeking some recognition in them.
Kylie was pregnant? From who?
“Kylie has a child?”
“Leo, Kylie hasyourchild.”
I jump up so fast that I spill my coffee on my shirt and burn my stomach. After I wipe myself off, I sit again, trying to piece everything together as I run my hands through my hair.
“What do you mean, Kylie hasmychild? I never knew she was pregnant. How could she have my child?”Why would she not have told me?
“She said she told you, and you paid her off with one million dollars. That you didn’t want your daughter, Riley.”
Riley. Riley is a child.Mychild.
It all comes together, and what she said Friday night now makes sense.
“I never fucking did that!” I stand up once more, throwing my hands in the air.
“Leo, she showed me a trust in Riley’s name with a million dollars in it. How did she get the money if not from you?”
How, indeed.
“I don’t know, but I’m sure as hell going to find out what the fuck is going on.” I pace the living room.I have a daughter. A daughter named Riley. Is she really mine? Kylie was with Nash. Could Riley be his daughter?
Nausea whirls in my stomach.
“How do we know she’s mine? I told you she was with Nash.”
He nods as if understanding my question. “I saw her, Leo. She’s most definitely your child. Get a DNA test if you must, but once you see her, you’ll know she’s your daughter. She looks just like you. And as for Nash. I called him last night. He claims he never slept with Kylie. Not that night or at any other time. He wouldn’t say more but said you need to talk to Kylie for your answers.”
Damn straight, I’ll talk to Kylie, and if Riley is my daughter, she has a lot of fucking explaining to do.

Kason gave me Sierra’s address before he left my penthouse, and now I’m standing outside her door, needing answers as my future hangs in the balance.
When Sierra answers the door, she is not surprised to see me. She cocks an eyebrow and puts her hands on her hips.
I’m guessing Kason told her I’d be by today.
