Fuck you too.

ChapterTwenty-Nine

Kylie

Late last night, I made it to New York. I expected to be here this morning, but it was so hard leaving Riley. Manda eventually ordered me out of the house.

It’s Friday night, and we’re in Sierra’s bathroom, putting on makeup and getting ready to head to a club she insisted we go to. She is wearing a low-cut red club dress that sits midway down her thighs. I’m wearing a crisscross tie backless cami dress that is the color of my eyes and sits just above the knee. It’s a little daring and sexy. You look good, you feel goodis what Manda says.

I’ve worked hard to get my body into shape again after having Riley. I even run now. Leo was right about that. Running does clear a person’s head, and I had a lot to clear from mine.

“There’s something I need to tell you. Two things, actually,” Sierra says.

“Okay, hit me.”

Sierra punches me on my upper arm and laughs.

Ouch.“I didn’t mean to actually hit me. I meant tell me what you have to say.”

She takes a deep breath and spills it. “I met someone.”

“Okay. You’ve met someone before.”

“This someone might be different.”

That gets my full attention. “Go on.”

“I met him a while back, and we had…” she pauses, “… fun.”

I decipher her meaning of the wordfun. She had sex with him.

“And?”

“We continued to see each other. The more time I spent with him, the more I realized he means more to me than I thought he did.”

Is she finally letting someone in?I’m so happy for her.

“This is exciting news. I’m looking forward to meeting him.” If someone is finally getting her to open up, I’m all for it.

“Good because you’re meeting him tonight.”

“Great. I can’t wait,” I say and remember she had something else to tell me. “So, what’s the other news?”

Her face falls. “I… um… I ran into Leo last week.”

That knocks me back a peg. She saw Leo.MyLeo. Well, not mine, but at one time it was true.

When I stare at her, dumbfounded, she says, “He was coming out of a bathroom… one that some blonde followed him out of.” She makes a disgusted face.

That shouldn’t sting after all this time, but it does. I can only imagine what they were doing in there.

“Leo is free to do what or who he wants. I’ve no claim to him anymore.” I sigh. I hate that he went on like I never meant anything to him, like Riley and I never meant anything to him.

“I know, but I called him out.”

I laugh.I bet she did.

“Did anything else happen?”
