“Yeah, that’s not happening again.” I slowly kissed her, taking my time to relish in her warmth “You’re strong, smart, and capable of anything you set your mind to. I’m in absolute awe of you.” I ran my tongue along the seam of her mouth. “Stay with me.”
“Forever.”
I let go of her and took her hands in mine, thankful that after everything we had been through, she still wanted to be with me.
“I appreciate everything you said, but I don’t have any intention of leaving you.” She rested her head on my shoulder. “I don’t like your job. I’m disappointed that you have to use the club for illegal activity. I’m scared every time you leave the house. I’ll never get the image of you coming through the door bleeding from that gunshot wound.”
“Lu.” I wanted to give her a better life.
“Let me finish.” She touched my lips with her finger. “I can’t live without you. I can handle your world because I want to be with you, but you can’t die on me.”
“Baby, I’m not going anywhere.” I kissed her. “Not as long as I have you to come home to.”
“I’m not going anywhere either.” She flipped over her wrist and showed me her tattoo. “I’m yours.”
I put my arm next to her wrist, lining up our matching tattoos. “And I’m yours.”
Today, tomorrow, and forever.
The End
