Page 18 of Brake's Intent

“Fuck them,” Jax snarls and bends to get in my face taking me to my back. “I’ll do whatever the fuck I’ve got to do to keep you with us. You, Lawson, and me. We’re it. So what if it’s legal or not? You marry one of us and commit to the other. And vice versa. We all commit to one another. Either way, I’m making it so we don’t lose you. Fuck this Gilroy fucker. If I have to, I’ll kill him, because I’m tellin’ you now, Faye, the only way he’ll get you away from me is by putting a bullet in my head, and that’s not gonna happen.”

I nod, unable to speak. Words completely escape me as I stare into Brake’s dark penetrating eyes. My heart flutters, and I pull my bottom lip between my teeth. I feel Lawson move in close, but I don’t look away from Brake.

Something at this moment changes things for us, and it’s big. Bigger than even what we did earlier.

Brake leans in and claims my mouth, and from there, I know my life has taken a serious turn. The kiss ignites something, and everything around us goes up in flames. Lawson joins in, his mouth replacing Brake’s. They both take turns kissing me and each other, moving things along until we’re all wrapped around each other. Moans fill the room, turning to breathless panting and groans as we find release in one another.

I don’t know if I could be without them now with how I feel for them both. My heart is filled with love for both men, and it scares me what we’ll be up against. I should run. Keep them safe and away from what’s to come, but at this point, I don’t think I can without it killing me.

CHAPTERTWELVE

LAWSON

“You sure this is a good idea?” I hear Tyres asking Brake, eyes glued to his brother as I approach.

Last night, after our talk and another round between the sheets, the three of us passed out. I woke up this morning with Brake going doing on me and his hands between Faye’s legs. The man is insatiable, but I’m not about to complain. Being with the two of them will never get old.

Once Brake went and took a shower, he’d told me he needed to talk to his brothers about some shit and that he’d be out in the main room when Faye and I finished getting cleaned up and ready for the day.

Faye was still getting ready in the room, and I would’ve stayed with her, but I needed to check on Brake, and make sure everything was good.

“Yeah, I’m sure,” Brake says, his gaze slicing over to me. “We’re doing this, and there ain’t no stopping it.”

“I get what you’re saying, Brake, but you gotta think about this,” Tyres mutters. “You can’t make this decision spur of the moment.”

“I’m not,” Brake grinds out, tensing and glaring at Tyres. “When have you ever known me to be spur of the moment or not think things through before doing them?”

Tyres looks to me and narrows his gaze. “You down for what Brake’s told me?”

“About?” I prompt.

“About one of you marrying Faye and the three of y’all having some commitment ceremony.”

“Yeah,” I answer. Sure, last night Brake surprised the fuck out of me by even mentioning it, let alone declaring that’s what we’re gonna do, but I’m definitely not against it if it means in the end they’re both mine.

“Y’all barely know each other,” Tyres snaps.

“No offense,” I mutter and step forward, eyes narrowing on the other man. “You don’t know what you’re talking about.” I look from Tyres to Brake then I glance at the other men standing near listening. “None of you do. But you do know Jax. He’s not someone to do dumb shit. He thinks before he does anything. Including getting with both Faye and me. If you don’t like it, then you can kiss my fuckin’ ass.”

“Lawson,” Brake says, getting my attention. “I don’t need you to fight my battles for me.”

“I know you don’t, but this isn’t just about you. It’s all of us,” I state tersely. “You might do your thing, and I do mine, but at the end of the day, this is us. You, me, and Faye.”

“And what does Faye think of this arrangement?” Breaker asks, speaking up.

“Why don’t you ask me yourself?” Faye demands, silencing the room. Since she came back, this is the first time she’s actually been out of the room other than a few times to get food or something to drink. During those times, she’d not once spoken more than a few words or looked anyone in the face. However, right now, the expression she’s wearing speaks volumes about her strength and proves just how strong she is and why she survived what Shawna did to her without breaking down.

“Jesus fuckin’ Christ,” Brake mutters, and I switch my attention to him to see he’s looking up at the ceiling. He brings his gaze back down and glares at everyone in the room. Me included. “All I was doing was tellin’ you what was happening. I don’t need any of you questioning my decisions,” he says this last part focusing on his brother. “You’re my VP, but you’re also my fuckin’ twin brother. How would you feel if someone were to take every damn thing you decide into question, especially where it involves your woman and kids?”

“I get it,” Tyres grumbles, blowing out a frustrating breath. “I just want to make sure this is what you fuckin’ want, consideringyoudon’t fuckin’ talk to us about anything anymore and haven’t since you got back from Florida.”

“I’m talking to you now, am I not?” Brake snarks.

Faye moves in, wraps her arms around my waist, and watches on alongside me, whispering, “It’s my fault he doesn’t talk to Tyres.” The words are barely a breath, and only I hear them. They’re like a punch in my gut that she thinks that, and if Brake hears her, he might flip his shit. Because I’m sure it’s true he might have blamed her, but when it comes to Brake, there’s more than anyone knows. I bet even Tyres doesn’t know the extent of abuse he endured as a kid before Ryder took them as well.

“This isn’t on you,” I murmur quietly for only her to hear and pull her close.

“But . . .”
