The women nodded, and then Dani disappeared into the closet. A moment later pieces of clothing came flying out of the closet, landing on the floor in a pile. One after another, fabrics of different colors painted the air.
When the fabrics stopped flying, Dani strolled out. "I think we'll start with this and see where it takes us," she said observing the large heap lying on the ground. "All right, Myra."
"But—" Myra hesitated, the brush halfway through Kallie's hair.
"Kallie can brush her own hair for once. Can't you, princess?"Dani mocked.
Kallie rolled her eyes and took the brush back from Myra.
Dani grabbed a white blouse from the pile and held it out to Myra. "Try this first."
Myra nodded and headed into the closet to change. A moment later, she reappeared wearing a long white cotton blouse that floated down to the middle of her thighs, a few inches above her knees with a tie at the top to tighten the fabric. The sleeves were made of a thin, see-through material that puffed up at the shoulders.
Dani nodded in approval. She then grabbed two corsets from the pile: the first was a black corset with elegant embroidery; the second, a simple white corset with defined boning that tightened in the front. Dani held them up to Myra, one at a time, debating. She tossed the black one back on the ground and handed the white one to Myra.
Myra wrapped the corset around herself, then turned to let Dani lace it up.
After, Dani stepped back to observe the ensemble. She rubbed two fingers across her chin. She reached for the ties on the blouse and loosened them, adjusting the sleeves so they fell off Myra's shoulders. "Perfect," Dani said, smiling.
Myra looked down at herself, then waved at her bare legs. "Uhm . . . aren't we forgetting something?"
Dani waved her off. "Pants will ruin the outfit. The shirt is long enough to be a dress anyway. Wear some tall boots if you must.”
Myra hesitated as if she had forgotten how to walk. Then she gave a curt nod.
She began to move away, pulling down at the shirt-dress as she went, then stopped mid-stride when Dani shouted, "Oh! One more thing!"
Myra looked at Kallie with fear in her eyes. Kallie swallowed the laugh building at the back of her throat.
Dani pulled the ribbon from Myra's hair and Myra's blonde locks fell from her bun in soft waves that brought attention to Myra's high cheekbones and soft eyes. "Now you're ready."
Unable to hold back her amusement any longer, a small chuckle escaped Kallie's lips that she quickly smothered with a hand when a blush rose to Myra's cheeks. "Myra, you look good, I promise. Stop worrying."
Myra's face reddened even more, the opposite effect Kallie was aiming for.
"And stop pulling at the shirt," Dani snapped.
Myra released her fingers immediately but began picking at her nail beds instead.
Dani's eyes turned to Kallie with a devious smile on her face. Kallie took a deep breath and got up from the stool. As she approached, Dani reached down into the pile of clothes and pulled out a pair of black leather trousers. "Put these on first."
As Kallie grabbed the pants and slipped them on beneath her robe, she could have sworn she heard Myra mumble, "Butshecan wear pants?"
Kallie kept her mouth shut though, preventing the chuckle that wanted out.
Dani then pulled out another corset. This one was made of a satin fabric that had the appearance of being dipped in blood. "Let's try red first," Dani said.
Kallie disrobed and held the red one against her chest, showing Dani and then Myra.
Myra's nose scrunched. "I don't know . . . it's a bit . . . " Myra hesitated.
"Dull?" Dani asked, but Kallie doubted that was what Myra meant. "I agree."
Dani returned to the pile, rifling through the clothes. She pulled out a black corset that was lacy and made to be worn underneath clothing. But based on Dani's expression, Kallie did not think that was her intention. Kallie sighed but grabbed the corset, holding it up to herself.
Dani nodded, and when Kallie looked toward Myra, she shrugged. Dani motioned for Kallie to turn around, then laced Kallie up.
Giving her a once over, Dani narrowed her eyes as she shook her head. "It's the pants."
