I don’t speak the last part that is in my head make him come after me. Walker leans back shaking his head. “I don’t like this shit, he already has a hard on for her, I don’t want to fuel that shit.”
I don’t want to say that I agree with him and Darren looks conflicted. “I think I need to do this, Walker. Maybe it can save her life?”
Walker’s jaw clenches, staring at the wall. “I understand that, but you’re my main priority, sweet girl.”
I look at the picture of that girl on the wall, her sweet face. “Look at her, Walker. What if it was our daughter? I would beg anyone to help.”
His face falls and I know that he has given in. If this is all I can do, then I will do it.

I watch as Summer stands against the wall with them setting up the camera for her to speak to Josh.
The girl’s parents are standing beside her. They’re barely holding it together, they’re devastated.
Walker is shaking, I know that he is fighting with himself to not let her do this. I’m fucking furious that she is still having to do this after all these years.
She looks over at me over the camera, my heart fucking cracks in my chest seeing that sad, helpless look on her face.
I rub my hand over my heart. “I hate this shit, man,” Walker tells me. Both of us are standing at the back of the room.
“I do too.” I sigh, rubbing my hand over my face. “I think it’s time we hunt him down, let’s end this shit.”
For the first time since all this shit has happened, he smiles. “I already have some people on it, I called them this morning after I saw the news.”
The cameraman starts counting down, my nerves coming out full force. Summer looks at us and I smile at her letting her know this shit is going to be okay.
She relaxes and looks into the camera, her arm going around the mother who sobs into her hands.
I can’t imagine the fear, the unknown. Rebecca’s dad steps up. “Please let our baby girl go, she is only sixteen years old. If anyone knows where she is, please let us know.”
The camera turns fully to Summer. “Josh.”
Fuck.
“Let her go, we don’t have to repeat history. She is a young girl whose life is just now starting. Do you want her life fractured the way yours was by your family? Have mercy, let her go, Joshua. Remember the times when we were kids and had sleepovers every night playing games? You used to have good in you Josh, think of that,” she pleads into the camera.
The camera shuts off and Summer lets out a deep breath. She walks straight to us tucking herself in between us.
“I just want to go home,” she says sadly watching Rebecca’s parents.
That shit is heartbreaking. Please God, don’t let her be hurt.

Soon the detective says I can go home and I’m ready to run out the door. I just want to cuddle on the couch with my guys and have them hold me.
We leave the conference room; the parents are staying behind hoping for information soon.
I rub my eyes exhausted.
“I don’t know about you guys, but I’m ready for some comfort food,” I tell them.
