“Rayne…”

He moved to sit up, and I pushed his chest back down.

“I’m joking. I walked in, and all three of you were sitting in the living room. Obviously, you had been invited before last night.”

Cade’s eyebrows slammed together. “You’re not funny. I was so pissed at your mom for forgetting to invite you. After everything you went through in high school, I don’t care if she’s like my second mother; I wanted to shake her for being so uncaring.”

“You were mad at my mom because of me?” I asked in wonder.

“Yes. It was rude. And your dad wasn’t much help.”

I rolled my eyes. “He’s usually not, and I should be mad at him, too, but he’s not worth the energy.”

“It’s still shitty.”

“Yeah.”

“Are you going to say something to your mom?”

I shrugged. “What’s the point?”

Cade jacked upright, wrapped his hand around the back of my neck, and put his nose to mine. “Because you shouldn’t put up with anyone treating you like that, especially someone who claims to love you.”

I appreciated what he was saying. I really did. It put warm fuzzies in my stomach. But when he had sat up, the bedsheet had fallen down, and it was obvious that Cade was naked.

And I couldn’t stop myself from looking at his beautiful body.

The thin piece of cloth slowly rose in his lap.

“Rayne,” he snapped.

I pulled my eyes from his erection and licked my lips. “What?”

He nipped my bottom lip, and the corner of his mouth tipped up. “We’re talking about something serious here.”

“I know.”

“Are you going to talk to your mom?”

“I don’t know.”

Cade pulled his hand from my neck and covered his crotch. “No cock until you talk to her.”

My jaw dropped. “You’re joking.”

He shook his head. “Nope.”

“What if I told you I missed sucking your dick last night and I want to make up for it?”

His hand jerked, but he said, “Still no.”

“Your penis disagrees with you.”

“It’s a good thing I’m in charge then.” He looked down. “Barely,” he muttered.

I laughed.

“Just promise me you’ll do it,” he said in a serious tone. “You deserve to be treated better, Rayne.”
