“What do you mean? Aren’t you on the Isle of Dragons?” I became irritable.

“Um, no. I’m in Atlantis,” she innocently spoke as my blood boiled.

“Did Lucca find you? How the hell did this happen, Melina?” My breathing grew heavy and my grip on her tightened. My eyes filled with fear. She placed her hand on my cheek.

“Calm down and I will tell you, my love.” The words she cast on me were a spell. I immediately calmed down as I placed my forehead on hers.

“I’ve been so worried about you, darling. Finding out you are in Atlantis, the one kingdom I needed you to stay away from, and you go there. It’s almost impossible for land dwellers to get there.”

“Horus told me it was all right. He brought me here and protected me,” she spoke sweetly.

“Horus thought this was a good idea?” I asked, surprised. Maybe I thought too highly of the damn beast.

“He wanted me to go. Now listen…”

I listened. Every bit of the story she told was with excitement, large hand movements. The emotions she poured out as she figured out that her supposed father on Earth was just a random man, so her mother had someone to lean on during the pregnancy. The crazed woman pegged her pregnancy on another man.

The darkness of depression in Melina’s aura had dwindled down to just a quarter in size. She no longer carried an enormous burden on her soul like she used to. My smile only widened as she got to the part where her father explained how he knew she was his. Happy tears flowed down her face as I rubbed her cheeks with the pads of my thumbs while she straddled my lap, looking into my soul. My little Melina found what she was looking for, the birth family that really wanted her. Not only that, but thirteen older brothers.

Holy shit. I rubbed a bit of my forehead as she told me.

“…and we are coming back tomorrow! Dad said he will bring us in his largest chariot, and we will meet you on the beach at sunrise!” She continued to choke back tears. I couldn’t take it anymore, her gorgeous smile, her happy demeanor. I just couldn’t handle it.

I smashed my lips to her to silence her cries. Even though she was happy, I couldn’t stand to see her cry. “My love, I’ve missed you,” I spoke between kisses. She moaned into my mouth as her arms were hurriedly thrown around my neck. “I’m so happy for you, my darling.” One hand was held behind her neck to keep her from leaving my lips, while the other held her back to keep her close. I needed to touch her, to be with her. The dream state did nothing but let me see. We might have felt each other in our dreams and felt some pleasure, but our physical bodies’ needs were left unstated once we woke.

“I missed you too Osirus, it makes my chest hurt.” Her hand fell to cup my face. “No really, my chest physically hurts. I’m so addicted to you.” She giggled.

“It’s the bond. We need to be together soon. Just a few hours and you will be back with me, and I will claim this body before I claim your soul,” I spoke temptingly to her. Melina’s lips parted and her nipples hardened under her silk camisole. “Fuck,” I whispered, staring at her breasts. Both of our hands were playing with our faces, not wanting to let go.

I was truly happy for her; her tormented mind could be more at ease now that she had a family, but it would help us as we continued our own future together. Taking one of my hands from her face, I rubbed her nipple on the outside of her silk shirt. She moaned and leaned into me.

“Osirus, I need you.” Her mouth went straight to my ear as she nibbled, pulling it softly. It was so sensual, not just the sexual drive but how we touched and caressed each other, no doubt I was harder than a dragon’s scales, but this was a loving touch, from the both of us.

My hands trailed her arms while small sparks flew across the tips of my fingers and through her skin. Her hand touched my chest and trailed around each chest muscle and my toned stomach. It was erotic, sensual like we were worshipping each other’s bodies.

“I want to continue this, darling, but you and I both have had a long day.” Nodding her head reluctantly, I covered us with our bedsheets. I brushed the hair from her face as we entangled our legs with one another.

“I’m apologizing beforehand, but I think Dad wants to size you up,” she muttered as she closed her eyes while nuzzling into my neck. I chuckled lightly.

“I wouldn’t expect anything less from a true father to a beautiful princess of a daughter.”

It was minutes before sunrise, and I had already warned the servants as well as the shifters that had been staying with us that this was a momentous occasion, since the Atlanteans rarely surfaced. They were a peaceful people that kept to themselves. They were certainly smaller in numbers than that of the fae or shifter kingdoms, but still very powerful.

Visiting royal quarters were prepared for Girard and his sons, and any servant quarters he may need. I wasn’t sure how long they planned on staying, but from what I had heard about sirens, they couldn’t stay out of the water for very long periods of time. Melina had been granted a splendid gift to be able to be both on land and water.

The sea was churning as the sun came across the horizon. Alpha Kane, Luna Clara, Tulip, and her mate had come with me as well as Alaneo and the Red Fury. They had all missed their friend and were glad she was safe. However, I most of all was glad she would be here returning to me.

In the distance, we saw a large dome-like apparatus emerge from the water, a few more came along with it. I could see Melina waving wildly as Horus swam up from under the water and took flight. His loud roar had fae on the beach covering their ears as he finally landed in his full form.

“You got my mate into a new mess of trouble, didn’t you, old friend?” Horus nodded and did a bow as I rubbed his forehead. “I thank you for that.” Horus let out a wink and stepped away and took flight again, back to his cave. True dragons didn’t like to spend much time around people. They were a solitary breed, unlike the shifter dragons of the northern territories.

Once the dome structures came close to the shore, the dome popped like a giant bubble and Melina came jumping out with her feet landing along the waves. She was wearing an iridescent, short wrap-around skirt that barely covered down to her mid-thigh. Her top was made of clamshells and pearls, just enough to keep her privates covered. Small sea stars decorated her hair. Her dark hair was curled perfectly. Her laugh became contagious as we both ran to each other’s arms.

Picking her up and twirling her in the surf, she gave me a kiss on the cheek. “I’ve missed you, my love,” she spoke loudly, no doubt to let her family know that I was hers.

Girard was a large man, almost intimidating, but since I was a king, I knew I could stand up to him.

“Greetings, King Osirus,” he bowed as I did to him. Melina stood beside me, looking, wondering what would be said. “I’ve heard rumors of you, but my son Lucca and daughter Melina have explained it was a farce, just like Lucca’s endeavors to save distressed women.”
