The smile that earned me, fuuuck.
I turned back to the new slate colored fridge and pulled out the shredded cheese bags I kept on hand. Then set about boiling water and grabbing a jar of sauce. “It’s nothing fancy. And Gran used to make it with homemade sauce, which I don’t have any of, so a jar will have to do.”
“Do you have garlic bread?” She asked behind me.
“Yep, it’s frozen, though. But not bad. Want to grab a box from the freezer?” I turned the oven on as I attempted to focus on cooking and not going over and kissing the hell out of Addy.
Thirty minutes later, I handed her a plate of Ziti with garlic bread on the side. “Let’s eat in the living room.” I nodded toward the front of the house.
“So… how did you end up working at the revue?” Addy stared at me; her fork held mid-air.
I chewed and swallowed the bite I’d just taken. “Needed a job fast when I got into town. My friend knew the owner of the show. He got me the job till I could find something more stable and in an area I’m better suited for.”
She tilted her head, something working behind her eyes. “So, it’s a stepping-stone job?”
“Basically.” I grabbed the bottle of water off the coffee table and took a drink. A little uncomfortable with her gaze, not used to someone staring at me so hard.
She blinked a couple times before taking a bite of her Ziti. “This is good.” Her eyes went big again, as she quickly chewed and took another bite, her focus on demolishing the plate of food.
“Might want to breathe before you choke on the food.” I chuckled at her enthusiasm.
“Breathing is overrated. Can you become my personal chef? I will provide a skimpy uniform and apron, and ingredients.” She eyed me in the t-shirt and gray sweats I’d changed into after I got the noodles on to boil.
Shaking my head, I said, “The beginning and end of my cooking skills are: mac n cheese, grilled cheese, and anything cooked over an open fire.”
“That’s okay. I love and could live off those items.” She shoveled another bite into her mouth and moaned.
Damn it, that was not helping the situation; my cock twitched as she dragged the fork out of her mouth. I swear to God, this woman was fucking with me. She had to know what she was doing. We’d agreed in the car, no sex.
“If you stare any harder, you might break something."
“Sorry.” I turned back to my food and tried to focus on eating.
We ate in silence, a movie played on the TV that couldn’t hold my focus. My eyes kept darting back to her every time she took a bite. My dick got harder and harder every time she pulled the fork slowly out of her mouth, her red lips pursed. Visions of my shaft in place of that damn fork sent shivers down my spine.
Giving up on eating, I set my food on the coffee table.
“Not hungry?”
“Food’s not holding my focus.” I said, leaning back on the couch.
She set her empty plate next to mine and drank from her water bottle. “Do you think they’ll end up together?”
I didn’t know what she was talking about; I was too focused on watching her. “Huh?”
“Lilly and Mathew. Do you think they will end up together? Or just be bang buddies?”
I turned my attention back to the screen to see a couple making out. Yep… this was a super bad idea. Way too many ideas running through my head.
Her hand landed on my thigh, snapping my head in her direction. “No idea.” God, having a kid really killed my game. I felt like a bumbling teen again, about to get his first look at a pair of tits.
“I’m not into the movie. And I don’t think you are either.” Addy leaned toward me, her hand on my thigh slowly slid up to my hard dick.
I held still, hoping she wouldn’t stop. My erection kicked beneath my sweats. Not daring to look down, I knew they had to be tented at this point.
“So… what’s something else we can do? I’m super not tired.” She licked her lips.
“I have a few ideas.” My hand grazed over her shoulder and into her thick hair to cup her face.
