Nick wason the ground in the dirt, blood coming out of holes in his body everywhere. We’d all taken our turns getting our pound of flesh.
Not until the man couldn’t move and was barely breathing did Cruz call us off.
“Patch him up and take him to Old Red,” he ordered, leaving the hole, and many of the Ravage men followed, including my father and Uncle Breaker. They were officially done with their brother. He would be their brother no more.
Deke went over and grabbed the alcohol. He knelt next to Nick and pouring it into the thousands of cuts. Nick screamed in agony.
Deke stood up with a smile on his face. “He said patch him up. Gotta clean the wounds first. Wouldn’t want him to get an infection.” His sarcastic tone had us grinning.
Micah handed Dryerson a wad of oil-soaked rags. “Use these and the duct tape. Sooner we do this shit, the sooner this fucker is away from Ravage.”
“Oil rags. Yeah, great idea to now have infections,” I said on a chuckle.
Nick looked horrible. Blood everywhere and wounds open so deep I could see bone. At this rate Old Red was going to need to let him really heal before getting his retribution.
We got to work with the oil rags. The man was covered with duct tape, and it’d be a bitch when it came off. It was like a present Old Red would need to unwrap.
“Ax! Raid!” My father’s voice came urgently from the stairway that led out of the hole. We moved fast.
As soon as he saw us he said the words I never wanted to hear. “Some fucker has Indie in his trunk. Your mother is in the car behind it. We need to go. Now. Tried calling your mom, and she’s not answering.”
As soon as we raced out of the hole our phones started going crazy with notifications. No doubt all from my mother trying to get to me. I opened the GPS app from my phone, found my mother, and took off like a bat out of hell on my bike. Several others followed behind me.
I’m fucking coming, Indie.

BELLA
Several cars were pingingon my GPS. Princess, Tanner, Austyn and Ensley all came up. No doubt they had others in the car with them.
I called them all and put it on speakerphone.
“The blue car right in front of me is where Indie is. We need to stop the fuckin’ car without hurting Indie,” I told them.
“Let’s box him in with the cars. Try to get him to pull over,” Austyn suggested. She was so much like her mother. “Bella, you stay where you are. Tanner to the right. Ensley to the left and, Mom, you in front. Get him to slow.”
“Of course. I’m in the front,” Princess said with a smile in her tone. “Have me wreck my SUV…”
“Focus!” I yelled out. Loved their banter, but I needed to make sure Indie wasn’t going to get hurt. “Let’s do this before he gets out on the main road.”
“I’ll be in front with Mom,” Austyn said.
“Stay on the line,” Princess ordered, and we got into position.
The side cars came from the side streets and got in their places.
Princess’ SUV came out of a parking lot, her taillights now all I could see as she began to brake. Austyn’s truck came from the other side, and they created a wall in front of the car.
This was going to end up badly if he didn’t stop. I needed him to stop.
Except, he didn’t. Whoever this mystery man was sped up and hit the back of Princess and Austyn’s vehicles, causing the car to swerve, but both Tanner and Ensley crushed the car between them.
Sparks flew as metal touched metal.
I was close, but far enough away that I could brake and not ram into the trunk.
“Motherfucker!” Princess yelled.
