“Bree, are you alright?Do you need some help walking to the pack house?” Drake asked me as he stood next to me in the room.
“I’ll be fine. I just want to go home.We can talk there, not here. Please,” I squeaked as I shuffled towards the door. No sooner had those words left my mouth than Drake had lifted me up bridal style. I didn’t bother to argue with him. I just wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed his cheek. “Thank you,” I whispered into his ear as he walked us out of the room and out of the pack hospital with Elias right behind us carrying the flowers.
“Not a problem Bree. I don’t want you to be in pain or suffer. I would carry you anywhere,” Drake replied with a cheesy grin.
Elias just chuckled behind us. “What?” Drake demanded as Elias walked ahead of us to open the pack house doors.
“Nothing. You just sound so cheesy. That’s all,” Elias snickered as we walked past him on the way up the stairs to my suite.
“And? If it’s cheesy. It’s cheesy. I don’t mind if it’s for Bree,” stated Drake with a serious tone in his voice and a death glare towards Elias who held up his hands in a mock surrender.
“Whatever man,” Elias stated as we continued to tromp up the stairs.
I only giggled at the two of them bantering back and forth. They sounded like brothers not rival alphas. We finally reached my suite and Elias opened the front door. “Where do you want me to put you down at? Your bedroom or the living room?” Drake asked with a hint of mischief in his eyes.
“I think I would like to go to my bedroom so I can freshen up. I feel grimy from the lake. I have to take a sponge bath since I can’t get the stitches wet,” Ianswered him as I laid my head on his shoulder.
“Which one is your bedroom my dear?” Drake askedas he started to walk down the hallway.
“The first one on the right.I can walk to my room Drake it’s like right there,” I explained as he turned in that direction.
“No. I will deliver you to your room,” Drake said as he went to open the door as Elias interrupted him.
“Bree, are you hungry? We all missed lunch. I can order us something to eat or cook ussomething. What do you think?” Elias asked as he looked at us standing in front of my door.
“We have some thawed steaks in the fridge. We have a fully stocked pantry. If you don’t want that, we can order something. It doesn’t matter to me. Whatever you want to do is fine with me,” I replied as I looked from Elias to Drake.
“I’ll cook the steaks and see what I can put with them. Drake, you want to come help me?” Elias asked with a knowing look between Drake and him.
“Yeah, let me get her settled. I’ll be right there,” Drake answered him with a nod.
He opened the door and brought me into my bedroom. He placed me on my feet as he looked around my bedroom. It was not the typical female bedroom. It was decorated in light blues and yellows, not the typical pinks. As he was looking around, he would occasionally, “Hmm” or smile.
“We’ll be in the kitchen if you need us. Just yell, we’ll come running. Okay?” Drake advised as he wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed me passionately. When we broke from our kiss, we were both panting for air. “Go get clean and comfortable. We’ll get dinner ready,” he stated as he placed another kiss lightly on my lips.
“Yes sir. Now, go so I can. Drake, thank you again,” I stated as I made my way to the bathroom.
“No problem love,” Drake said as he winked at me.
Elias and Drake met in the kitchento start preparing dinner. “How is she?” Elias asked as he took the steaks out of the refrigerator.
“She’s alright. I think almost dying scared her. But I think she’ll be alright. We need to have a talk with her tonight.I think she needs to know,” Drake said as he looked in the pantry for sides to go with the steaks. “What about some potatoes or pasta?” he queried as he held up a box of pasta.
“I think pasta would go easier with the steaks.Do we want a vegetable with this? Is there anything for a salad in the fridge?” Elias wondered as he walked over and started opening the crispers. “Ah-ha! We can have salad with our meal. I agree, she needs to know. How will we tell her?”
“I think we should eat first and thensettle in the living room for some quality time. What do you think?” Drake mused as he put the water on for the pasta.
“I like that frame of thought. We’ll go with that,” he answered as he seasoned the steaks.
As they got dinner ready, I struggled to get myself clean in the bathroom. I was never a fan of sponge baths. They never really made me feel clean. I couldn’t fully wash my face due to the long gash on the left side of my face from the temple to the chin which took about 45 stitches to close. I put on my pajama top and bottoms. I took another look in the mirror as I took my brush to brush my hair. I went and sat on my bed and started the task of brushing my long, tangled hair.
Suddenly, I felt hands on top of mine. Drake came in to check on me to find me struggling with my hair. “May I help you with this?” he asked softly as he took the brush out of my hands.
“Yes, that would be nice. Thank you. It’s extremely tangled,” I stated as he started to brush my hair. I don’t know why, but it is extremely soothing to have someone brush your hair.
I sighed deeply as he announced, “Your hair is now tangle free. Did you want to leave it down or put it up?” he asked softly as he handed me the brush.
“I was going to put it in a braid going down my back. That way, it’s out of the way and out of my face,” I answered him as I got up from the bed to get my hair tie from the bedside table.
