He breathed hard, his eyes going from the test he’d taken from my hand to my face and then back.
“It’s okay?” I asked, worried.
“It’s everything.” He dropped to his knees and pressed his lips to my belly. “It’s everything. The perfect gift. I love you so much.”
My fingers slipped into his thick hair as he pressed kisses to the place where our baby grew. “I love you, too.”
He was the one who’d given me all the gifts. Him, a family, the new family we’d make, and so much love. He was right. It was everything.
I pulled at him. “I love you,” I repeated. “I’m so happy you came to find me.”
“Me, too, little lamb. Me, too. Now, let me show you.”
He showed me all the time, but I didn’t complain as he tilted me back on his desk and showed me one more time.
