"Most of them don't even know where we are headed. Gotta love a team that follows orders without question."

Twenty minutes later, Mike stood in front of a room full of guys awaiting his direction.

"We are heading out today into yet another shit storm. I won't lie, this one isn't pretty, but you were all chosen for a reason. We have been asked by an unnamed agency to go in and recover an operative who is someone whose identity was leaked to the enemy. He has been undercover for over five years and there are a lot of guys gunning for him. I'm sure you all understand we need to get in and out quickly. You will get your assignments on the plane."

He looked out into the room at the six guys following his lead until this mission was complete, and all he could do was think about how much he was going to miss Andie until he got back. If he didn't focus on his job, he was going to make a mistake that could cause someone to lose their life. He took one look down at his phone and for the hundredth time that day wondered if he should call her before leaving.

Red shoved him, and he looked over, "What?"

"Dude, come on. What is your deal?" he asked as the guys were heading out of the control room and off to the airstrip.

"Nothing man. Come on, let's get on the road," Mike said and followed the men, leaving Red to follow him.

Chapter Six

"I'vedecided,"Andieproclaimedto her sister, "I am over Mike!"

"Well, it's about time."

"Hey, cut me some slack, it's only been a couple weeks."

"Ya, but you were only with him for one night."

Avery rolled her eyes at her sister and picked up the basket of clothes she was helping her fold.

"Come on, Ave, you know there was something special about that guy."

"Girl, the way you talk about him makes it seem like you had been together for ages."

"Alright, I will admit I got a little hung up, but he was hard to let go. I mean, he was so..."

"Nope! Not going there. Andie, if you're done, then be done! Let's go out tonight. Maybe we can find you a new Prince Charming," she said, laughing at the look on her sister's face.

"Number one," Andie said, holding up a finger, "He was not Prince Charming. If he was, he would have found my number and called. Number two, I am not going out to pick up guys. You are crazy. I have a shift tonight with Diane, and besides, I feel like I need a nap, not a nightclub."

She plopped onto the couch and gave the basket of clothes that needed to be put away a dirty look.

"What is with you lately... did your green-eyed giant give you mono?"

"Stop calling him that!"

"Why, that's what you call him?"

"Avery, you're driving me nuts today."

"Alright, I'm sorry. I know you're tired. How about I put these clothes away as an apology? I need to get going, anyway."

"Sounds like a plan. I'm sorry for snapping at you. You really are the best, you know that?"

"I know."

A laptop went sailing across the room and landed with a thud. "WHAT A FUCKING MESS!" Mike paced at an unhealthy speed with an uncontrollable desire to break things.

Red stepped in front of him to stop the pacing. "What has gotten into you? Is it the girl? Because man, you have never been this bent out of shape over a mission going to shit before."

"We have been here for weeks already and we haven't made a damn bit of progress. Don't tell me you're not pissed too."

"Ya, I mean, I'm pissed, but it's not like I have anything better to do. You're the one who has been acting on edge since we took off, and the only thing I could think of is it is that chick that's driving you crazy."
