Page 115 of Seeking Two Lovers

“Why don’t you make a muffin and coffee run. Ask her out on a date.”

“She’s spending the weekend with us,” I said, brushing my hands together to rid them of dirt.

“So. Doesn’t mean you can’t wine and dine her on your own, right?” Wyatt peered at me, his dark blue eyes curious. “Or are there rules in place for your…threesome thing you’ve got going on?”

“No rules.” I shrugged. At least, we hadn’t discussed any. Hell, we hadn’t even talked about being a threesome outside the amazing sex we’d had the weekend before.

“Think your buddy would mind if you had Lily all to yourself one night?”

I didn’t even have to consider my answer. “No.”

“Would you be jealous if he took her out and left you at home alone?”

“No.” I knew Grey’s love for me was an unbreakable bond. “I trust him. Fully.”

“It’s a rare thing to find that with another person.” Wyatt pulled a twenty from his pocket and handed it over, his brow furrowed. “For break.”

I nodded and took the bill, trying to read his face he kept pretty closed off. I wondered if he was bi—and envious of the potential me and my two lovers had to create something special.

“Go ask your woman out and bring me back an iced black coffee and one of those blueberry muffins you were going on about the other week.” He picked back up the post hole digger and went to work, effectively keeping my questions in my head. “And it’s okay if you take your time.”

After a quick brush of dirt off my pants and shirt, I climbed into the business truck and headed across town. Working in the sun all morning had resulted in my not smelling the best, but considering how sticky and sweaty the three of us had been in Grey’s bed, I didn’t think Lily would mind all that much.

The cafe sat quiet, only a couple of the tables occupied with couples chatting and two people staring at their laptops.

Cheryl stood behind the counter, grinning as I walked into the air-conditioned building. The cool air slid over my sweat, creating a groan in my chest. “Hey there, Mr. Yummy.”

Heat flooded my face.

With how silly and talkative Lily got sometimes, I feared what all she had told her manager. At least she’d shared that nickname for me rather than the other one.

“Lily around?” I croaked out, not as confident as I’d been a few seconds earlier.

“She’s on break.” Cheryl glanced down over my filthy clothes. “It looks like you’ve been hard at work.”

I cast a quick glance over my attire, grimacing over the dirt caking my boots. “Yeah...sorry if I make a mess of your cafe.”

“Don’t worry about it. What can I get for you?”

I gave her my order, and she handed it over to the barista. “I’ll let Lily know you’re here.”

She disappeared into the side room, and seconds later, my coffee girl came rushing out, eyes sparkling and cheeks the prettiest shade of pink, her ponytail swinging behind her.

Warmth once more flushed my face.

“What are you doing here?” she asked, rushing around the counter to throw herself into my arms.

I caught her with an oomph, quickly pushing her to arm’s length even though she smelled sweet and delicious.

She pouted.

“I’m filthy,” I muttered an explanation.

A slow smirk lifted her lips, and she lowered her eyelashes even while keeping her head tipped back to see me.

That heat in my face rushed southward. “I’m here because Wyatt wanted coffee,” I finally answered, “and I missed you.”

“I missed you too,” she said with a quiet sigh, threading her fingers through mine. “It feels like it’s been forever!”
