“That is my sister, but the night is still young.” Saylor tiptoes and gives me a kiss, and we both walk into the house.

Lee and Zhi are talking to Jason and Anika, while Hayley looks around the house. Joining everyone, I introduce Saylor to them both, knowing she has already met Lee when he went to her house.

Hayley stands in front of me, and I give her a smile. “Don’t smile at me, you hurt my sister. You made her cry, you broke her heart, and I think she’s stupid for even looking at you again, so I’ll say this... You hurt her, I will shoot you.” She pokes her finger into my shoulder before I can say anything to her, then she walks away from us, and I turn to Saylor.

“What is it with all your family and wanting to shoot me?” I ask, making Jason and Anika laugh, and Saylor just shakes her head at me.

“I’m going to say sorry for whatever happens tonight. She’s not been taking her meds, and I’ve already had to fight with three different personalities, so I’m sure more will come.” Saylor looks at the three of us, and you can see how worried she is about tonight.

“Never say sorry. I’m here, and don’t plan on leaving.” I pull her closer to me. “You’re stuck with me now.”

“Let’s see what happens at the end of the night,” Saylor says, looking over at Hayley.

I pull her closer to me and lean down to give her a kiss on the cheek. “How are you feeling?” I’ve not asked her once about how she has been since finding out she’s pregnant.

“Morning sickness is a bitch. I can’t drink wine, even though I really want some. And the smell of vanilla is disgusting.” She looks up at me, then leans her head on my chest. “To top it off, I’ve had the worst headache for what seems like forever.”

I wrap my arms around her waist and kiss the top of her head. “Is there anything I can do?” I ask.

I’ve never been around pregnant women, so this is all new to me too. I bought a book on my phone this afternoon and started reading it; one to help new dads through the pregnancy stage. It was a lot to take on board, but I want to be there for every step of this.

“Saylor, would you like anything to drink?” I hear Lee walking over to us, and I let Saylor stand up straight, and she gives him a smile.

“Wine, but I will take water.” She jokes, and then walks over to the kitchen with him, and she laughs at something he’s just said.

My phone starts ringing in my pocket, and I already know it’s David. “Is someone dead?” I ask, walking over to the kitchen as Lee and Zhi plate up the food. I couldn’t have gotten dinner ready if they weren’t here. Zhi has made some nice food since they got here and has been cooking something different every night.

“No, I called to say I’ve looked through the first phase for the app, and there is nothing wrong. I’m looking for some people to trial it now,” David tells me, and I look over at Anika. I was going to use my own team to try it out, since if anyone was going to know if something was wrong with the data it would be them.

“Get the team-”

“I was thinking the same thing, but we also need some people who are into fitness, and dieting too. See if it all links together,” David points out, and I can think of a few people who are in the gym and watching their food intake.

“Let's get the team on it first, then we will look for fitness people.” I end the call and place my phone on the counter to help Lee and Zhi with the food.

“What's happened, you have that look on your face?” Lee asks, and Zhi nods.

“No, I don’t,” I reply, trying to blank my facial expression.

Saylor leans forward to look at my face, and she smiles. “Yes, you do. And I will leave, so you can talk business.” She goes to walk away, but I stop her.

“Stay.” I pull her closer to me.

“I think I will pass. With everything with my sister, and being pregnant, the last thing I need is you going crazy at me for something I didn’t do again.”

“I said I was sorry, and I was wrong about it. But if I have to say it again, I will.” I pull her closer as I turn my body to face her and see Lee and Zhi walking over to the table with everything. “I sorry, so fucking sorry. For all of it. I trust you with everything, and I will share everything with you. Do you believe me?” I ask her, and she looks over to her sister for a second before looking back over to me.

Her eyes look into mine while I wait for her to say something, and the longer she takes to talk, the more worried I’m getting that she’s still not sure about us.

“I believe you.” The words escape in a whisper, as he gives me a small kiss on the lips. “I’m hungry.”

“Let’s eat, Lee and Zhi have been in the kitchen all day-”

“You didn’t cook for me?” she asks, as I pull out the chair for her.

“I was going to, I swear, but things came up at work, and I had to stay longer than I wanted to.” I sit down next to her and pour her some water, and some for her sister. “I promise, next meal, I will hand make myself.”

“Good, I like your cooking.” I look over at Jason and Anika laughing at Saylor’s comment.
