I can feel my eyebrows coming together in a confused look and she just waves around her room.
I must have been so invested in seeing my sister, that I didn’t notice that most of her stuff is all packed up.
“There was no way I was going to be staying here. So, when I heard that Leo and Santos were going to be here today, I thought I would hitch a ride with them or something.”
“Hitch a ride?”
Was she going to climb in the back of the SUV and just pop out at the airport and yell out surprise?
Camila nods. “Yeah.”
“I guess you wouldn’t be you, if you didn’t try something like that.” I give her a smile and go to grab one of her bags.
My sister is coming home with me.
She will no longer be under our father’s thumb and have her life dictated like mine and Leo’s.
She will be able to live the life that she wants to live and be able to succeed.
And I’m going to do everything possible to make that happened.
And I know Leo will too.

I sometimes wonder how my life got to where it is.
Yes, I was born into this life, but I could have chosen to walk away before I was ever in too deep. I could have walked away the second I stepped out of the basement for that first time with my father.
But I didn’t.
Did my life become what it is because I was destined to have it go like this? Or was I too hardheaded as a teenager and just decided to take this path?
Whatever the case may be, it led me to a coffee shop in Austin waiting for a damn federal agent to arrive.
“Are you sure he’s coming?” I readjust my baseball cap.
I have no idea why the fucker asked us to dress conspicuously, it’s not like there is an active warrant out for our arrest or anything.
Leo nods before cutting into his omelet. “He said he would be here. Maybe he’s running late or something.”
Or something.
I swear if this is some sort of ploy against us, I'm going to strangle special Agent Madden.
“How is it going with Camila and Isabella under the same roof?” Leo asks, taking another bite of omelet. The way he’s eating that thing is disgusting.
It’s been three weeks since Leo, Isabella and I went to the estate and Camila left with us. For the first week and a half, she and Isabella stayed at her apartment. I would occasionally pop in to feed them but then leave them again to continue their sister time.
When Camila went to New York last week for her interview, me and Isabella got together and talked. It wasn’t about anything serious, but we needed to figure out a few things. One of them being if she wanted to move in with me at some point.
She was practically already living with me when all this shit with Emilio started up, and I sure didn’t have the balls to touch her stuff when she basically lived in San Pedro for the past year. So, most of her stuff is still there.
I didn’t want to pressure her into anything that she wasn’t ready for just yet, but now that Camila was living with her for the rest of the summer, they needed more space.
Space that I have.
So, I offered it to her. Even suggested that we could swap homes if it made her feel better.
