She told me she would think about it.

It took about an hour of thinking before she told me that was ready to move in.

Not going to lie, it took me a little by surprise, but I grabbed at the opportunity and moved all of her and Camila’s stuff to my place. They were both moved in by the time Camila got back from her interview.

Here’s the kicker though, I’ve spent most of my life around these two. How didn’t I know how much of a hassle it was to live with both of them?

I appreciate Leo a little more now but he’s still an asshole for not warning me.

“A pain in my ass.” I mutter into my coffee.

Leo laughs and shakes his head. “Welcome to the club, hermano.”

He looks like he’s about to say something else, but something must have caught his attention because he stops when he looks up.

“You’re late.” Leo wipes his mouth, greeting our guest.

The special agent has arrived.

Sure enough, he slides in next to me like we are longtime friends and takes a menu from the center of the table.

The bastard doesn’t say anything, just waves over the waitress and places his order.

As soon as the girl is done, he turns to us.

“How are you boys?”

I hate him.

“Oh, you know, just waiting for your ass to show up.” Leo answers, sounding slightly annoyed than he was a few minutes ago.

Madden sighs. “Yeah, sorry about that. Had something to take care of and it took a little longer than I thought it would.”

The waitress comes back and sets Madden’s coffee on the table.

Of course, he drinks it black with nothing in it. It’s just like his soul probably.

“So,” he says once he takes a drink from the black liquid. “What brings on this lovely breakfast? Not that you two aren’t my favorite people, but I got shit to do.”

Leo nods to me.

I reach for the backpack that I walked in with and pull out the first file.

“This is all the information you need to close a cold case from five years ago.” I place the file on the table.

“What cold case?” Madden says, tentatively opening the file.

“The murder of Cristiano Reyes.” I state and instantly he recognizes the name.

I don’t know if it’s because he knows the case or if he knows the name as his father’s killer.

“Who did it?” He says opening the file and scanning it.

“Emilio Castro.”

Madden looks me right in the eye when I say the name. There is definitely recognition with that name.

“He still alive?” He looks between me and Leo looking for an answer. He probably thinks he died last year when he went after Serena.
