“Huh?”
He smacks me and I squeal, squeezing my eyes shut on his chest when my skin burns like fire beneath my jeans. “Fuck.”
“Big brother got you good, huh?” He teases, laughing when I glare.
“He rough like that with all the girls?” I ask, hating the weird pinch of jealousy I feel when I allow my imagination to run wild a moment.
The fuck is wrong with me?
Kai shrugs, sliding his eyes from me to the car and back again. “Only the ones who drive him bat shit crazy.”
I ignore that, looking at the girl to make my order. Kai finally turns on the charm and she eats from the palm of his hand, blushing again when he takes a pen from the counter to write his number on her wrist.
I swear to god she moans.
He carries enough donuts to feed a small village and I shake my head at him, opening the back door for him so he can slip back inside.
“Hungry, are you?” When raises a brow, eyeing him and all the bags.
“Some of them were free.” He shrugs, grinning when I snort. “Plus Callie’s always gone for hours when she disappears like this. Who knows how long we're gonna be?”
I roll my eyes and jump back inside, hitting the gas to speed off towards the edge of the city. “Eight hours. One more stop in LA, then Vegas, then back to Westbrook.”
“What's in Vegas?” Wren asks, passing one of the Honey's bags to Damon.
“My money.”
He laughs at me and I grin, looking at Damon when he hands me a chocolate covered ring donut without having to ask. I hide a frown and take it, wondering why he picked this one out of the other half a dozen in the bag. He just smirks, pleased with himself and my surprise, no doubt.
I growl quietly, snatching a big bite between my teeth. “You better stop doing that.”
“Doing what?”
“You know what.” I bite out, speaking around my food. “Prick.”
He laughs lightly and I glare, quickly finishing my donut while I pull up outside the abandoned warehouse.
“Stay here.”
“What is this place?” Damon tips his chin, glaring when I don't answer.
I wipe my hands with my napkin and jump out, leaning over to eye the three of them in warning. “Stay here.”
They all hop out and I smack the roof, dragging my hands through my hair because of course they're not about to listen to a fucking word I say.
“What's the matter?”
“You're infuriating.”
“Are we?” Damon teases, grabbing my waistband to yank me into him. "It's not very nice being defied all the time, is it, punk?"
I ignore the way every inch of my skin tingles with his hands on me, gripping his jaw to pin his eyes with mine. “This isn’t a game, Damon. If they see you out here they’ll-”
Just then, the warehouse door slides open and one of the boss’s men comes walking out to greet us with a black duffle in his hand. The huge bald guy I've never seen before scowls, clearly displeased with me and my company.
“Who are they?” He asks, lifting his gun to point it at the biggest one beside me.
I lift mine just as quick, feeling my heart pound uncontrollably in my chest even though I was expecting this. Louis obviously sent his newest recruit out here to meet me because he doesn't want me or these boys inside tonight. Not that I can blame him for that. He's paranoid as fuck and he has every reason to be.
