“I said.. where the fuck is she?!”
“Gone.” Wren answers for him, laughing at the sky like it said something funny. “Going. Leaving. Who fuckin’ cares?”
I frown at that, searching for the answer to his riddle because he's not making any fucking sense.
And where the fuck is Kai?
“..motherfucker, I will stab you in your sleep if you don't take your hands off me.” Callie snaps, still struggling in Ryan's grip.
He laughs, easily overpowering her with the hundred and fifty pounds he has on her. “Try all you like, sweetheart. The boss wants you with me. That’s where you're staying.”
She growls and looks at me. “Prick.”
I lick my lips, ignoring the waiting eyes on me because she really shouldn't have said that, but I've got bigger things to worry about than mouthy little punks who don't fucking listen.
I look down at Levi, hauling his stupid ass up by his hand. “Go walk it off.”
“What?!” Callie screeches, ignoring the way every head snaps her way. “Have you seen the look on Wren's face? You're just gonna let-”
My nostrils flare and she wisely snaps her mouth shut, locking her jaw when I grab her waistband to pull her from Ryan's arms and into mine.
“Do not mouth me off me in front of them.” I warn, gripping her throat. “Got it?”
She scoffs, looking away. “Whatever you say, boss.”
I ignore my anger at her constant fucking defiance and snatch her hand, pulling her with me. She tries to pull away so I yank her along, then I grab Wren's shoulder and squeeze, forcing his bloodshot eyes to mine.
Tired. Defeated. Empty..
Fuck, he breaks me.
“Yo.” Kai shouts, walking over with Madison chasing his tail. “The fuck happened?”
Wren shrugs out of my hold and turns to walk away, freezing to look over his shoulder when Callie snatches his hand to stop him. She chews her lip and takes out a squashed pre rolled joint from her pocket, then she smooths it out and holds it up between them. He offers a half smile and looks at me, laughing lightly when I nod. The two of them walk off to go drop their asses on the sand facing the ocean and I move my eyes over the crowd, wordlessly ordering them to get back to it. They all fuck off to go do as they're told and I look at Kai.
“He said she's leaving.”
He frowns. “Who? Freya?”
I nod. “And he just beat the shit out of Levi so I'm guessing he's the one who broke it to him.”
Kai winces. “Fuck.”
Yeah. Fuck.
He turns to look at him and I do the same, licking my lips when I watch Callie tip her head back to laugh at whatever he’s saying. He shakes his head at her and blows his smoke up to the sky, shoving her shoulder when she says something else. Then she grins and wraps her both her hands around his arm, lying her head on his shoulder and keeping it there.
“And here I thought you were my biggest competition, brother.” Kai jokes, snorting when I shove his ass.
“Shut the fuck up.”
“She forgive you?”
I ignore that, eyeing him and all the hickeys on his neck. “Madison again? Really?”
“What?” He shrugs, grabbing himself a beer from the bar. “She's a hot fuck.”
“Where'd you go?”
