"Thank you, Alec. (She took a shaky breath.) I'm unbelievably proud and happy, and I'm just so… (high pitched) happy… about your gift… and thankful." She paused for a few seconds. "Are the rest of these songs… Chr-Christian?"
"Yes. I already sent you the link while I'm sitting here."
"I might be, I'll probably be busy for a little while. So, I can't promise that I'm going to call you back right away. I've got to go teach a first aid course in a little while, so it might be tonight before I can sit down and listen to all of them."
"That's okay. I knew you had to teach that class. You don't need to check in with me about the songs. You can just listen next week or whenever you want. Like I said, I don't know if I'll ever do anything with them."
She took a deep breath. "Okay, I'll call you later this afternoon," she said. "I want to say more about it, but I have to get myself together to go teach this class."
"Okay," he said. "Just don't worry about it. Call me when you can."
"Thank you, Alec."
"Thank you for listening," he said.
He could hear that she was shaken, and he wondered how she'd feel after hearing all of them. He wondered if it was too much. Maybe he should have started with a few songs. It was too late to do anything about it now. He had already hit send, and now all he could do was wait to hear what Grace thought about the music.
