“Go ahead, Isaac.You can hold her.You know she loves it when you do.”

“Thank you, Mistress.”He scooped her up and held her close as Kristin and I watched.

“We need to go upstairs,” Kristin said.“Will you be alright?”

“Yes, Mistress.You and the Master take care of business.Briella and I will be just fine.”

We left them and headed upstairs to the conference room.Inside, there were already quite a few people, and the conversations quickly shifted as we entered the room.

“You all will be happy to know that it is official.Zander and I have mated.Zander Armstrong is now your new master.”

There was a chorus of yells, about times, and whistles around the room, and everyone seemed happy about the news.

Ryker called out loudly, “Wait!Did you say Zander Armstrong?”

She nodded as everyone stared between us.“Yes, I did.For those who do not know, Zander’s blood father was Alexander.We learned that recently and have kept quiet until we felt it was time to announce.He has decided to take his father’s name.”

There were raised brows, laughter, and a few confused looks as people stared at me, but no one seemed upset by the news.

“Now thatthatis over with, we have business to attend to.There is something else that I need to confess to all of you.”

All eyes were on her, and I wondered how they would take this next bit of news.

“Hugh is no longer in the compound,” she stated, and everyone started talking at once.

“What did you do, banish him?”Beckett asked loudly.

She put up her hands to quiet everyone.“No, Hugh was not banished.Hugh left the compound of his own accord, and before you all ask, yes, there is a way out, but that information remains in this room.”

She looked around the room, making sure everyone understood what she had said.

“We did that scene purposefully so that no one would question where he was.We staged that confrontation.You all know how he feels about my sister, and we decided it would be better for him to go to her than to stay here and make things tenser.”

“Is that why you had the baby so quickly?”Scarlett asked.

She shook her head.“No, Briella was fine.I have been feeding from Zander.His bloodline is strong, and she responded well to it.Briella coming early has allowed me to make the next move.”

Henry and Beckett glanced at one another as she continued.“Hugh went to Angelina, but unfortunately, something has happened.I do not know what or how bad it is, but Hugh is hurt.”

“Is he with Angelina?”Cora asked.

“I don’t know.All I know is that we, I, can feel that Hugh is in a great deal of pain.”

“What are you going to do?He left, so it should be his problem,” Beckett said harshly.“I hope you don’t expect us to go after him.”

“Oh, Beckett, I don’t expect you to do anything.Zander and I will be going.We will take a small group of people with us, but we will find Hugh and Angelina and bring them back.Also, if we find Corbin”—she turned to Henry—“we will bring him back too.”

He blinked.“How do you know about Corbin?”

“He’s mated to my sister, Henry.”

He frowned.“But that’s not possible.He’s not a reborn!”

“He must be,” I jumped into the conversation.“Also, you are aware that he’s not your biological child, right?”

He shifted nervously in his seat.“I am aware.How are you?”

“Corbin is my half brother.Correction, he is Garrett’s and mine.He is Alex’s son.”

“Go, Alex,” Scarlett said with a laugh that others joined.

“You didn’t know he was a reborn?”

He shook his head.“No, I did not, and I knew he was not mine, but his mother never told me who the father was.She aluded to it a couple times, but never outright said.I treated him as mine, though.”

“I expected nothing less from you, Henry,” Kristin said with a smile and then encompassed the group.“So that’s the plan.Tomorrow night, a group of us will leave and find them.I need volunteers—”

Before Kristin could finish the sentence, every sentinel in the room, along with quite a few others, raised their hands.

I chuckled.“We might need more than one transport.”
