“I refuse to be in any situation in which you are not one hundred percent at ease. I know another place you might like better, and I thought we could go there instead. We can meet up with them for a drink after we eat.”

“You know…” She leaned up then, grabbed his cheeks, and placed a very deep kiss on his lips. “You are damn near perfect.”

He pulled her back in and let his kiss linger on her lips.

She could get drunk on him.

That realization brought with it a slight epiphany. Maybe she had always been able to adapt to any situation because she didn't have the optionnotto. Now, with Callum, she felt safe enough to allow herself not to adapt. She didn'thaveto put up with situations she didn't want to be in. The thought sent warmth through her body and she suddenly longed for more.

“I’m not very hungry. Not for food, at least,” she whispered against his lips. His eyes darkened. “We could probably make it all the way back to the house, have a little fun, and then make it back here all before drinks.”

“Sam, if I undress you right now, there won’t be drinks. There won’t be anything for at least another twelve to twenty-four hours. It may even take me weeks to do everything I want to you.”

“I can’t wait,” she muttered against his chest.

And then her stomach growled.

“Not hungry, huh?” He lifted a brow at her.

“I lied.” She crossed her arms in frustration and wanted to yell at her stupid stomach for ruining the moment.

“How are you with walking in those heels?”

“It doesn’t hurt. Yet,” she replied.

“If they start to hurt, let me know.”

“Okay.”

And then they started walking. It was only five minutes before they ended up at a pizzeria.

“Dianne’s may be your favorite, but I prefer Pizzeria Di Giovanni.”

“That sounds fancy.” Sam smiled.

“It’s not. But it’s absolutely delicious.”

They walked inside and Sam laughed. “We're far too dressed up for this place.”

Callum raised an eyebrow. “Actually, if I remember correctly, you are not dressed up at all. You are missing a very vital part of your outfit.”

“Don’t act like you don’t love it.”

“I definitely love it.” He gave her a devilish grin. “I’ll love it even more once you let me play with you in them.”

Sam shook her head in embarrassment as they made their way up to the counter.

“What do you want?” Callum asked.

“Two slices of pepperoni and a coke.”

“So boring.” Callum rolled his eyes. “Two slices of chickenand pineapple and a beer.”

“I remember the pineapple. But chicken? On a pizza?”

“Don’t hate on the most delicious pizza known to man.”

Sam scrunched up her nose and then grabbed his arm when he pulled out his wallet.
