"You think Hafgan is behind it?" Imogen asked.

"He would have the power, but I would have felt the presence of his magic in the castle."

"Maybe Aisling would know. Kian has some of her blood and has used it to summon and speak with her while she was in Annwn," Bayn replied thoughtfully.

Arawan nodded. "That would be helpful. She's a sorceress. She will be more sensitive to the magic that managed to achieve it. I will need to find a way back to Annwn to stop whatever is happening, but I don't know how to get there if I'm not connected to it."

Imogen waggled her eyebrows at him. "I could always kill you, and that will send you straight home."

"Oh, very funny. I bet you would love that," Arawan said, rolling his eyes at her.

"No one is killing anyone, you psychos," Freya snapped at them. She dared to give Arawan a stern look. "Don't encourage her."

Arawan only gave Imogen a smile that said he was going to encourage her to do allkindsof reckless things. Loving him might actually be the most dangerous thing she had ever done.

After Bayn had finished eating, he went to collect Kian, Elise, Killian, and Bron. Imogen crashed into her sister, holding her close.

"I'm sorry for waking you up and dragging you into this on such short notice," Imogen said into Bron's dark hair.

"To be honest, we expected something to happen and were ready for it," Bron replied.

Killian pulled Imogen into a hug. "So you didn't take our advice to not shag the god of the dead."

Imogen laughed. "Come on, bro, don't act like you didn't have a bet going. Did you win at least?"

Killian's smile said it all. "Of course I did. Arawan is quite literally all of your weaknesses tied up into one sexy package. You both looked ready to tear each other apart or fuck each other stupid from the day he turned up."

It was so accurate, Imogen didn't even bother to try and deny it. Bayn appeared with Kian and Elise, the latter a bundle of bright eyes and dark hair.

"I haven't been out in ages! This is way too exciting," Elise said by way of greeting and hugged Imogen.

"Don't say that like there's any other place you'd rather be than Kian's library," Imogen replied.

"Not true! I'm very partial to being in between his thighs as well. But really, have you seen Kian's library? I'm going to need years to go through it all. Charlotte is having a blast studying all the magic books I have no idea about." Elise looked across the room to where Arawan was standing. He watched them all curiously like he had never seen a family before. "Damn, Imogen, I can see why you're willing to risk it all."

"He can grow a crown made of bone and has wings too. Just putting it out there," Imogen replied, shooting him a salacious look. His eyes flashed ruby and her lady parts clenched.

Fuck, look away! Look away!

It was too late; she was caught in his spell and was walking toward him before she could stop herself.

"What are you doing hiding over here," she asked. Arawan draped an arm around her waist. He looked uncertain of the gesture, so she leaned into him.

"I'm not hiding. I'm observing," he replied.

"We are all a bit loud when we are together. Don't let it intimidate you." Imogen slipped a hand underneath the back of his shirt. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm healed, Imogen. I told you I would." Arawan's mouth twitched a little. "I'm surprised you're concerned at all, considering you offered to kill me in order for me to get back to Annwn."

Imogen's hand dropped to pat his ass. "I was teasing. I'm not going to give you up without a fight."

"I promise when Hafgan is dealt with, I will let the court run itself again, and I will devote a year to making you scream in pleasure," Arawan whispered in her ear.

Imogen bit the inside of her cheek. "Is that a promise or a threat?"

"Both."

"Are you two interested in summoning Aisling or not?" Bayn called out to them, and Imogen had to force her eyes away from Arawan.
