As we are walking through the door I swear I hear the man she called Blood murmur something about these damn women.
“But.” I try to turn back towards the door, unsure if I should say anything to these people about Gio.
Leading me into a bedroom, she leaves me in the middle of the room as she walks over to the closet and starts pulling out clean clothes.
“I think these will fit you. There’s a bathroom right over there. Clean towels and other toiletries are in the cabinet.” She smiles in my direction.
“Don’t you want to know who I even am?” I look at her with confusion.
“Your name is Raven and you have been staying in the cabin with Baratta’s brother, Gio.”
“No one was supposed to know we were there.” I say in a rush.
“They don’t. We women of the club know how to keep secrets.” She grins.
“What club?” I ask, confused yet again.
“The Wolfsbane Ridge MC. You walked right past some of the guys on your way in here.”
“The ones with the vests?” I ask and she shakes her head.
“Go ahead and get a shower to clean up. You can meet us in the kitchen when you are ready. Fiona will be here by then.”
“Thank you.” I say before she leaves through the door with a smile.
Catching a glimpse of myself in the mirror on the wall, I realize the reason some of them stopped short when they saw me walking across the yard. I look like a monster that was buried alive.
Turning the water on, I strip down to get into the shower. I pray that Gio is still alive.
I find my way to the kitchen without any issue at all by following the voices of women. Turning into the doorway, I spot Fiona on the other side of the room.
She cuts off from speaking as her eyes find my own. I run to her as she wraps her arms around me and I burst into tears on her shoulder.
Although we don’t know each other all that well, I feel more connected to her than anyone else in the room currently. She’s the only face that I really know here.
“Shh, you’re okay now.” She says in a soothing almost motherly voice. “Baratta will be here in a few minutes and then you can tell us everything, okay?” I just shake my head, still unable to let go of her.
“Prez is on his way.” I hear a deep voice and I stiffen but Fiona doesn’t let me go.
“Go back outside! You’re scaring her!” Fiona growls at the man.
“How the fuck can I be scaring her? She’s not even seen me?” The man sounds almost like he’s whining.
Wanting to get a peep at him, I let go of Fiona slightly and turn towards him. A large man with huge muscles is frowning at Fiona.
“Just go back outside!” She snarls and I hear him mumble something about all these crazy ass women as he stomps to the front door. Exactly like a toddler probably would.
The whole thing is just funny to me and within moments I’m laughing so hard, tears are streaming down my face once again.
All the ladies in the room join in too.
“I can’t believe you talked to him like that. He’s a big guy!” I finally say.
Fiona shrugs her shoulders, looking back at the door he left from.
“I can still kick his ass!” She yells loud enough for him to still hear her outside.
“While these men around here look like they could snap any of us in half, they really are just big teddy bears. They’d never do anything to hurt us.” Hayden says from the stool she’s sitting on at the small bar in the middle of the room.
