“I know. But you need that DNA to prove it so that you can legally take her from that wretched bitch!” She says through clenched teeth.

“Your mom is right. Come on, let’s go home.” Lily smiles at me before hugging my mom.

“I’ll see the both of you later.” Mom says, walking to her car.

“Have you found a house yet that you like?” I stop her with my question.

“I found a few that I am scheduled to go see over the next fews days. I’ll let you know.” She answers back.

“Okay mom, be careful.” I say back, reaching for the door on my own car.

Mom waves from her window as she drives away.

Austin was quiet all the way back to my house. I know what he is thinking and he needs to stop it.

Going into the kitchen, I begin making us something to eat, waiting for him to start talking first.

“I should just give her the money.” He says from the table.

“No, you shouldn’t.” I look back at him.

“It would get her gone a hell of a lot faster.” He says back, almost angrily.

“Just for her to show up again down the road demanding even more money, Austin! You can’t do that to yourself. Hell, you can’t do that to Cordy!” I say loudly, getting worked up at the thought of that sweet little girl always being put in the middle like a tiny little bank.

“I’m sorry. I know you are right. I just hate knowing I can’t take her away from them right this minute.” He rubs his hand down his face. I feel bad about what he is currently going through. “Did you hear how he spoke about Cordelia when he pulled up? I wanted to knock his teeth out.” He growls.

“Yeah, your mom and I both noticed. The asshat is lucky I didn’t have a gun on me.” He looks at me then, smiling.

“So bloodthirsty. Whatever am I going to do with you?” He walks up, putting his arms around me.

“Guess I need a spanking.” I say suggestively.

“You would love that, wouldn’t you? For me to make you get down on your hands and knees, ass up in the air while I spank those cheeks red. Bet you are wet already just thinking about it.” He whispers next to my ear.

Before either of us can act on our desires, his phone rings. We both look at it and see that it is the lawyer calling.

“Hello?” Austin says into the receiver.

He’s quiet for only a minute while he listens to Taylor on the other end.

“We’ll be there. Thank you!” Austin says before hanging up the phone.

“What did he say?” I ask.

“He wants us to meet him in an hour at Bella’s Brew.” He says, looking at him.

“Maybe the DNA test results are back.” I smile at him.

“Let’s hope so because I am more than ready for this shit to be over with. I worry about Cordy being around that Brandon guy even if her mother is there. She isn’t any better than he is.” He says angrily.

“I know it’s been hard Austin. I wanted to pick her up and run away with her myself.” I hold his face in my hands, looking directly into his eyes.

“Let’s go ahead and head over to Bella’s place. A cup of coffee would be good right about now.” He says, kissing the tip of my nose.
