Destiny.

What a funny thing, isn’t it?

She always hears your wishes but grants them in the most unexpected ways.

For the one of us who hated the ocean became a pirate and vicious killer, ready to sink his hatred into any soul soaked in darkness.

Nothing human remains in him because the monster tore his soul apart bit by bit, leaving a huge gap that exists in nothingness.

The one who hated suits and any restrictions became a world-famous lawyer who wins almost every case, and people shudder just thinking about having to face him in court.

A twin who has no regard for the law, and the other who follows it to a dot.

Rafael lived the perfect life of my dreams, while I resided in agony.

After all…

Villains don’t get happiness, no matter how much they beg for it.

That’s firmly saved only for the princess.

Rush

Every villain knows one absolute rule.

If you don’t want to face a beast who will tear your soul in two for daring to cross him, don’t ever fucking steal his spoils.

“Rafael!” I shout once again, removing the safety from my gun and firing into the air several times, while George and William groan behind me—not that I give a fuck about it.

They shouldn’t have accompanied me if they don’t support my methods. Then again, Rafael is their golden boy they adore, even if the fucker ignores them.

Apparently, I share one personality trait with my brother—we do not forgive or forget disloyalty.

And in his eyes, they committed an unforgivable crime when they sided with me in this conflict.

The guards are already running toward me, bowing their heads as they greet me. “Mr. Wright.”

“Out of the way.” They jump away at my harsh growl, while I continue to fire bullets in the air, making the birds chirp loudly before flying away as if feeling the upcoming danger and wanting nothing to do with it. “Rafael!”

Where is the fucking coward?

My boots thud on the perfect concrete leading to a narrow path to the modern, two-level glass house with a thousand lights surrounding it, creating a rather sensual atmosphere, since Rafael invites everyone to peek into his life.

Except almost no one can pass the iron gates his men protect, covered in various wires and cameras so no soul will come and go unnoticed, as the sadistic bastard loves to surprise his enemies in the most uncommon ways.

The mesmerizing garden opens up to my view, from huge oak trees with the greenest leaves, to the rose and orchid bushes twining together, with neatly cut grass, presenting a magical picture straight out of the fairy tales. Several benches and alcoves line the perimeter, finishing up the composition, and from the outside, it seems the owner chose the perfect modern design, focusing on the fauna of this place and adding his personal touches.

Bright and fresh colors with a tad of mystery.

Except Rafael is a chameleon who wears different masks and skins as he sees fit, as long as it serves his selfish needs, ready to fool anyone to get what he wants.

He never does anything without a strategy, predicting not only his moves but those of his enemies as well.

To trust him usually means death to his opponents, and anyone in their right mind avoids him at all cost, especially because those who end up on his bad side never make it out alive from there. He might not physically kill anyone, but he destroys their reputation, making it impossible for those people to live in society without any scrutiny and to get any jobs.

No wonder his colleagues even have a saying about him.

If you don’t want to lose a fight, don’t go against a Wright.
