“I was looking for advice,” Deacon bit out, like it physically pained him. “On how to proceed. The guy I like is pretty special.”

And again, he raised his gaze and looked directly at me.

I tried not to preen. Much.

Then it hit me. “You got an erection while I was giving you the massage yesterday, didn’t you?”

He sputtered.

I grinned. “It’s okay. I’m flattered. But it does explain a few things.”

“Ah. Yes.” Deacon’s voice was brisk, and he broke eye-contact to play around with the food on his plate. “But it wasn’t just that. I’ve been, um, intrigued, for some time.”

So, the man wasn’t going to come right out and say it. That was fine. Two could play at this game.

Primly, I folded my napkin and placed it on my lap. “Well, you’re going to have to be blunt. Especially if the guy in question might be under the impression that you’re straight, or if you happen to have authority over him.”

Deacon looked stung. “I would never abuse that.”

“Then show him,” I said, and repeated. “Be blunt.”

A look of pure determination came over Deacon’s face. Standing from his chair, he crossed around the table and pulled me into a kiss.

DEACON

It took every drop of courage I had to kiss him.

Yes, Kendall had as good as told me to go for it, but deep down inside I fully expected him to punch me in the face.

Instead, after a moment of shock, Kendall’s lips relaxed against mine. His mouth parted, one hand reaching up to rest on my cheek.

Hands on his shoulders, holding him, I took the opportunity to deepen the kiss. The tantalizing scrape of stubble against my chin was nothing like kissing a woman. He tasted like the pasta we had been sharing. There was the hint of male musk that was different and intoxicating, and the small murmur of sound he made set my blood on fire.

Something clicked into place within my mind.

Still, I was the one who broke the kiss. Leaning back, breath coming in rapid pants, I looked at him. “Is that blunt enough for you?”

He smiled a sassy little smirk that made me want to kiss him all over again. My heart was pounding, and part of me couldn’t believe I was doing this… but the rest felt like it was the most natural thing in the world.

“It’s a start.” Kendall glanced meaningfully over his shoulder to a loveseat which was set tastefully against the wall. It had a view of the beach but was secluded enough to give us some privacy. “Shall we take this elsewhere?”

I grinned, and within moments I was sitting on the love seat, he was straddling my lap, and we were kissing again.

Kendall was bold. He knew exactly what he wanted and wasn’t shy about asking for it.

I let my hands drift up and down his body, feeling the hard planes of his stomach and torso. Very different from the soft curves of a woman, but welcome.

My thumb brushed over a nipple, and he made a small breath of sound against my lips.

“You like that?” I asked in wonder.

“Of course. Don’t you?” His own hands slid up my shirt to pinch my left nipple lightly. I jumped at the spark of pain mixed with desire. No one had ever paid attention to that part of my body—not even myself while masturbating.

We exchanged grins and he leaned in to kiss me again, hot and open.

Gripping his hips, I brought him closer so that there was no space between us. I was hard as a rock already, and I could feel his erection against my lower belly, and…
