We grab her paperwork and Kyla fills it out. I head over to tell them that cost doesn’t matter, but to just make sure that the babies and Holly were okay.
A couple hours pass before we are allowed to see her.
We get her a private room, and her eyes widen when everyone walks into the room. Kyla walks in first, crying and gently wrapping her arms around her friend.
“Don’t you ever do that to me again,” Kyla says, sounding hysterical.
“I’ll try not to,” Holly says dryly.
“Are you hurt anywhere?” Easton asks.
Holly shakes her head. “No. I’m more dehydrated and underweight for how far along I am, but they got this fancy IV hooked up to give me fluids,” she says, lifting up her hands.
“Can you tell us what happened?” Dante asks.
“Well, Helen’s brother took me and locked me in a cellar. Helen was going to wait until the babies were born and take them so that she could get these guys back, and then she was going to kill me. But her brother decided on another plan,” she starts off explaining.
Then she proceeds to tell us about Helen’s brother’s plan. I feel sick with every word.
I can’t believe that she went through all of this. If it wasn’t for us, she would never have gone through any of it.
“Now that you know everything ,you guys can go now,” she says.
I look at her and see that she’s looking at me, Easton, and Dylan.
“Hol-” I start, but she cuts me off.
“I was just held captive for the last month and a half. I don’t really want to lay here and listen to you speak,” she says coolly.
I drop my head, but don’t argue. She needs to get better, and then we can work on getting her to forgive us.
“Let us know if you need anything,” Easton says with a sad smile as we make our way out of her room.
“I’m not going anywhere,” Dylan says, and sits on the floor against the wall.
“We can’t push it. Her health, and the health of the babies, is more important right now,” I tell him.
“I just spent the last month wondering if she was dead, and thinking that I might never see her again. I. Am. Not. Going. Anywhere,” he says.
I look into his eyes and can tell how serious he is.
This is a private hospital though, so at least we know she will be taken care of.
“I’m going to get her some food. I’m going to find out from her doctor what she can have,” I murmur.
The doctor tells me that she can have small meals frequently, but nothing too heavy.
I head to the diner to get her something to eat.
When I make my way back to her room, her brother Dante gives me a tight smile before taking the food, since she doesn’t want us in her room.
That doesn’t stop the three of us from sitting on the floor until visiting hours are up. We don’t go far though; there is a hotel across the street from the hospital, and I get us a room so that we can stay close in case she needs us.
I text Kyla our room information, and let her know that we have also rented the room next door for her if she, or any of the others, need to rest.
She doesn’t say anything, but I don’t expect her to.
Easton orders food, but we barely talk as we eat. All of our moods are sullen.
