I was still lying on the ground, and I still couldn't believe that the two Alphas were brawling against each other.

"You son of a bitch!" Michael shouted angrily and was finally able to get out of Lucas' grip.

On the other hand, Lucas didn't allow him to get away with it. The next thing I knew, they were already growling and snarling at each other!

My heart was beating so fast as I watched Lucas punching and pulling Michael easily.

Fuck.

They were in combat, and I still couldn't move from where I was lying.

"Fuck!" Michael shouted in pain when Lucas got him under again. Lucas smirked and was about to give him a hard blow when Michael suddenly shifted, causing Lucas to fly away from him.

"Lucas!" I shouted as my eyes widened. That's when I finally dared to stand.

I immediately went to Lucas as I saw Michael fleeing from my peripheral view.

My breathing was labored as I held him in my arms.

"Oh god, oh god. Hey, hey," I gently tapped his face, waking him up. "Oh, thank god!" I exclaimed as I helped him stand.

"Are you okay?" I asked him immediately. He held his head before looking at me.

I bit my lip as my heart was in rapid heat already. "I'm fine. Fuck. What about you? Are you okay, huh? Do you hurt anywhere? Hey, tell me," he asked in a frantic voice.

I wasn't able to respond when he began checking my body. I was even more stunned when he cupped my face causing our eyes to meet.

His deep blue eyes stared at me intently. It screamed concern and fear. My heart thumped rapidly as he inched his face toward me, resting his forehead on mine before briefly closing his eyes.

“I thought I’d lost you,” he said, barely a whisper.

I swallowed hard as I felt the shivers run down my spine.

He’s too close to me!

I began to feel a bit conscious, so I withdrew my face from him. An awkward silence enveloped the both of us. A few minutes later, I heard him giving out a deep sigh while he was blankly staring at the towering trees in front of us.

"You shouldn't have gone there in the first place," he said in a firm voice.

My mouth parted in shock, and I sharply looked at him.

"What?" I asked in disbelief. I saw him clenching his jaw while intensely looking at me.

"I said you shouldn't have come here. Now, look at what happened, huh?! You almost got hurt! Fuck! Why are you so stubborn? You should've just stayed within the borders!” he chided before grabbing a fistful of his air, frustrated. “And what the hell are you thinking of challenging an Alpha with strength twice as yours, huh? The hell, Celine!" he barked.

My jaw fell in shock. The tenderness that I saw in his eyes earlier is now gone. All I see right now is an irritated Alpha who’s raising his voice at me.

"Really? That's what you'll say to me? What a fucking joke, Lucas! First of all, I am not your prisoner! Second, I never told you to follow me here, so why are you even here? If you are disappointed with me, why did you even rescue me?! You should have just let me die in there! Damn it! I don't need you rescuing me just so you can scold me to your heart’s content. You should have just let me die, you freak!" I hollered. Suddenly, all the anger and frustrations I was harboring toward him busted through a bomb of words. I felt my eyes watering in rage. Hell, I didn't even care that he was my Alpha.

Fuck. He already broke my heart, and now he's hurting me again! I never wished for him to be here anyway!

"What is your problem?! I am just worried about you!” he shot back.

I scoffed and harshly shook my head.

“My problem?! You know my problem! It’s you!” I wasn’t able to control my emotions anymore. The tears I have been holding back for quite some time now feel like waterfalls. I saw how his eyes widened upon seeing the tears streaming down my face.

Damn it!
