I cursed in my head.
Fucking mate’s pull.
I gathered all my strength to pull away from him. Pain and anger began to succumb to my heart while I fought the invisible force that binds my sense of logic.
“Get the hell out of here, Michael,” I said in a warning tone as I readied myself for any attack. The jerk just laughed again.
“Oh, you’re quite the feisty one now, huh. What an improvement. I guess you’re not the weak she-wolf I used to know,” he mocked.
I was beginning to breathe heavily while facing him. The effect of thepullis starting to take a toll on my body.
“However, you may have grown stronger and braver, but you’re still foolish. You made yourself my enemy, and that speaks so much of your wrong decisions,” he said while shaking his head like he was disappointed in me.
The surge of anger within me was threatening to explode. He has the guts to say that after causing me so much pain. He has the guts to look disappointed after he and his family killed my father?
I felt my blood boil just by the thought of Michael and his family’s wickedness.
“The nerve of you to say that, Michael. Being with Blood Moon was the only right thing I did in my life,” I shot back in anger.
He let out a mocking laugh again.
“Oh, stop joking,” he uttered in a mocking tone, his eyes laced with hostility. “You’re still the same foolish woman that I used to know. Have you forgotten all the atrocities that the Blood Moon pack has done to us, to you?” He spat.
My mouth parted, and I shook my head in disbelief. This guy is unbelievable. Does he really think that I am the same gullible Celine before?!
I hissed and looked at him angrily. “And you really think you can still manipulate me?! I am so done with all your lies, Michael! And I am so done with you playing innocent when you are the culprit. You killed my father!” I shouted.
My anger finally erupted in my chest. I swiftly ran in his direction in an offensive stance.
He wasn’t able to prepare for it. He was caught off guarded when I pounced at him. He fell on the floor while I was sitting above him. I grabbed his collar tightly. I saw the horror in his eyes as I looked at him intently.
“You killed my father. Your pack killed my father!” I shouted all the pain and anger I felt as I reminisced the last memory of my father.
I felt the hot tears running to my cheeks as I tightened my grip on his shirt. I gritted my teeth. He was coughing already, but I didn’t let him go. I wanted to kill him so badly, but the mate’s pull was still there. Although my anger and frustration right now are so much more than that fucking pull.
“Y-You can’t d-defeat m-me…” he said while coughing. I tightened my hold on him and was about to slit his throat when he suddenly turned our position. Fuck.
I was already on the ground, and he was on top of me. I tried to reverse the situation, but he was stronger. I muttered a curse and started struggling.
“Oh yeah, bitch? I told you, you picked the wrong pack! You’re just like your father!”
I looked at him angrily as I struggled to push him away from me. Fuck!
“And now, this decision will be your death!” he shouted as he aimed his hand at my neck. My mouth parted, and I struggled to breathe. Fuck.
I blinked my eyes multiple times as I tried to get his grip away from me. I tried kicking him, but it was no use. He was already laughing like a madman when someone choked him with an arm and dragged him away from me.
“No one messes with my pack member, asshole.”
Chapter Fifty-Four
My eyes widened in shock when I saw Lucas strangling Michael. The latter was fighting him and making ways to escape his hold, but Lucas was so angry that he didn't let Michael move for a bit.
"You asshole! I will fucking kill you! I heard Michael shout at him.
Lucas let out a guttural growl and tightened his grip on Michael's neck. The latter was struggling to breathe already. I felt like a bucket of cold water was poured when I realized what was happening.
Damn it. I would have died if Lucas did not suddenly come to save me.
