“Good,” he said before turning his back and walking back to his seat. That’s when I was able to breathe calmly. Oh god. I slightly closed my eyes and massaged my forehead.

“Pour me a juice,” I heard him say.

I jolted at his sudden order. “Y-Yes, sir!” I said and briskly went to get him what he wanted. It was an exhausting and draining dinner for me. I almost didn’t get out alive! Gosh, I just thanked the moon goddess that I was able to survive that freaking dinner.

I felt like a big rock was lifted from my chest when I left the mansion. I was sweating so hard when I went back to our quarters.

“How was it?” Leila asked when she entered the room. She swiftly closed the door behind her and sat on her bed across from mine.

I closed my eyes for a bit and took a deep breath.

“He just asked me a few questions, but yeah…I-I was able to shrug it off…I guess,” I said before pursing my lips.

There was still a hint of fear in Leila’s eyes, so I could not help but feel anxious.

“Don’t worry. I did my best to answer his queries,” I said, trying to assure her it was all fine. “But hmm… I kind of said that you were the one who assigned me other tasks, so I wasn’t able to cook for him earlier,” I guiltily admitted.

“What the hell?” Leila’s jaw dropped. “Oh my gosh, Celine!”

“Sorry! I panicked, okay?” I said. It was her turn to massage her head.

“Shit. Let’s just hope that Alpha did not suspect you or something. Didn’t he notice something about how you walk or move?” she added. I shook my head as a response, and she nodded.

“Good, good,” she said and let out a sigh of relief. She avoided my gaze and looked somewhere else. “Let’s just really be more careful now. It’s not that easy to keep something from him. We wouldn’t like it to be on the Alpha’s bad side, Celine.”

I bit my lip and just nodded at her. “I know. Sorry. I'll be really careful next time,” I replied.

We looked at each other. Leila gave me a small smile.

“Well, let’s just do better later, okay? Make sure his dinner will be exquisite,” she said and finally stood up. I nodded and smiled at her.

“Get moving now,” she added before walking out of our room.

I sighed and pulled myself for a few seconds before finally joining Leila outside. I helped my fellow Omegas with the remaining tasks as well.

Our routine was always like that every day. Other Omegas are assigned to clean some parts of the territory; some, including me, were assigned to the mansion. Other Omegas and some pack warriors sometimes go out to gather food from the forest and town, which I‘m still unfamiliar with. Honestly, I wanted to explore that other places as well. But I don’t think that’s allowed. Besides, I am too busy with my work here as an Omega, and I wouldn’t have the time to wander leisurely. I also have my scheduled training with Leila.

I sighed. Maybe someday, I’ll be able to do that, anyway. For now, I will just focus on what I should do for this pack.

Time passed by so fast. The next thing I knew, it was dinner time, and we were already preparing for the Alpha’s food. As usual, I was in charge, and the others assisted me.

As he requested, I prepared three dishes for tonight. Leila said they just got back from hunting, so I was told that the food later should be appetizing.

I cleared my throat and shook both of my hands after washing them. I took off my apron and faced the others.

“Let’s go,” I said. They all nodded.

My eyes went to Leila, and she just gave me a small nod. Then, we finally went inside the dining room. It wasn’t just the Alpha, the Beta, and Gamma because some warriors were there too, so I was relieved since we won’t be facing the Alpha alone.

It was a peaceful dinner, or that’s what I thought because when everybody was leaving already, Alpha Lucas suddenly asked me to stay behind again.

Damn it, what did I do again?!

That thought kept running through my head as I went to him. I kept my head down as I walked toward him.

“I have some news for you, Celine,” he informed. That’s when I decided to meet his gaze.

“S-Sir?”
