“We’re here,” she said as she finally opened a rusty door. I looked around.
It looks like an old training room. I could see some specks of dust and cobwebs on the wall. It seems like this room hasn’t been used for years.
“Where are we?” I asked. Leila gave out a sigh.
“Stop asking questions. Let’s go,” she said before dragging me inside.
I realized that this room was a full-blown training ground. There was a boxing ring, weights, bow and arrows, and many more. Although they looked old and worn out, they still appeared functional. I did not know that this kind of place existed.
“Wow,” I gasped in awe.
“Tsk. Enough with that. Let’s get this started, Celine,” Leila said. I looked at her as I gathered my determination.
“Let’s do it.”
Chapter Fourteen
“So, here’s the deal, Celine. I will be training you until you become a skillful warrior. The duration of this training will depend on you. I will do my best to train you and make you a decent fighter. Are you okay with that?”
“Yes. I am. I am okay with everything, Leila,” I assured her. She smirked at me before walking around the room. Then, she grabbed a sword.
“The Alpha made sure that his warriors are capable of using these weapons other than hand–to–hand combat. So after we finish our hand–to–hand combat training, we will proceed with weapons training,” she explained while pointing to the different kinds of weapons tied on the side.
My mouth parted as I looked at every weapon in there. Wow. Crest Moon has these weapons, too, but there’s a lot of it here. I think Crest Moon’s weaponry didn’t even reach half of the Blood Moon’s.
“Wow. No wonder you are fearless, and no wonder they were afraid to fight you. It’s because you have these armors here,” I said in amazement.
Leila moved the sword and walked toward me. “Are you ready?” she asked.
I stared at her in confusion. Then I looked at the sword that she was holding. “Uhmm, I thought we’re going to start with the hand–to–hand combat first?” I bit my lip. She smirked.
“Oh, we will,” she answered, and as if on cue, she threw the sword to the side and attacked me. My eyes widened in shock. I wasn’t ready for the attack, so the next thing I knew, her fist had already landed on my cheek, and I was already on the floor.
Shit!
“Aw!” I moaned in pain.
“Get up, Celine. You cannot even dodge a small punch. We need to train your reflexes. Get up!” I almost jumped when Leila’s voice raised. I closed my eyes for a bit before taking a deep breath. I gathered my strength and courage as I stood up and faced her again.
“What? Are you giving up?” she taunted. I straightened my face and shook my head. I heaved a sigh and fixed my body posture.
“Never,” I firmly said.
Leila then smirked. “Good, because this is just the beginning.”
And indeed, it was just the beginning. That evening was the start of my training and journey to become a skillful warrior. I knew training would be hard for someone like me who’s not used to it, but I conditioned myself not to give up on every challenge Leila would throw at me. I just didn’t realize that on the first night, she would already go hard on me.
The training was too intense that I thought I was going to die! Damn. It was already dawn when we decided to finish that session. I was so battered and exhausted that I immediately dozed off when I retreated to my bed.
I wasn’t sure how much sleep I got that night. Maybe around 2-3 hours? I don’t know.
“Celine! Celine! Get up!” I almost jumped on my bed when someone shouted and tapped my face multiple times.
“Aww!” I jerked because I could still feel Leila’s punch on it. Damn it.
“Oh my gosh!” I immediately opened my eyes only to see Mina in front of me. Her eyes were wide, and she looked horrified. I quickly sat up.
“M-Mina! What?” I said nervously.
