“Good. I’m Leila, by the way... I still need to dress you up before I present you to the Alpha,” she said nonchalantly after she withdrew her hand.

I froze. What did she just say? Shit. I’m going to meet their Alpha?! Is it too late to back out right now?

Damn. I am going to meet that ruthless wolf who mercilessly killed thousands of werewolves?! I couldn’t help but tremble. This time it wasn’t because the wind was cold, but because of remembering all the hideous things I heard about that Alpha.

“I-Is it really necessary to m-meet him?” I asked nervously before biting my quivering lips.

Leila glanced at me as if I said something ridiculous.

“Of course. He needs to see all the new members of the pack. Don’t worry. We always accept lone wolves,” she said calmly, as if it could wash away the fear that I was feeling. Damn.

I cleared my throat, gathering the courage to ask the question that kept bugging my mind.

“Is it true he eats the hearts of his enemies, though?” I asked in the most casual way possible.

Leila stopped and stared at me amusingly and smirked. “No, only those of annoying, pansy she-wolves like you,” she chuckled. Then she dragged me with her before I could even utter another word.

Shit! My heart rumbled against my chest as we approached the Bloodmoon’s territory. I can’t believe that I will really become a part of this pack!

We spent the next few minutes walking until we finally reached our destination. My jaw dropped when we entered the entrance. I thought that their pack was a home of rebels. But hell, it was not. It looks like a palace. My mouth gaped as I stared at the tall brick fences with large spaces in between. The houses on the side look much better than the ones in the Crestmoon pack!

But what’s more astounding about this place was the big palace-like house in the center. It stood like a majestic fortress. I couldn’t help but stare in awe.

“Come on,” Leila prompted, so I followed her.

I couldn’t speak the whole time as I was busy looking at the entire place. Damn. This is really so much bigger and better than Crestmoon’s!

Leila let me inside her quarters and dressed me up nicely. It turns out she was an omega, and servants like her have their quarters beside the Alpha’s mansion. Speaking of Alpha, shit. We were now walking towards the mansion's grand entrance, where Leila would present me to their leader. I was so amazed and in awe with the whole Bloodmoon pack that I barely noticed that she was done already. The next thing I knew, I was already in front of the freaking Alpha himself! Oh my god!

“Alpha Lucas, let me present to you a lone wolf I found earlier in the river.” Leila turned to me. “Say your name,” she whispered. I held my breath.

“C-Celine…”

Leila turned to the Alpha again. “She’s Celine, a lone wolf.”

I swallowed the lump in my throat. My heart was beating so fast as I slowly turned to look at the Alpha. A pair of blue eyes met my eyes. I gripped the hem of my dress as I tried my best not to stutter or fall because my knees were trembling so bad.

I bowed down nervously.

“Why are you a lone wolf? Don’t you have any pack before?” His deep and baritone voice echoed in the halls.

“I-I was b-banished…I-I’m from Crestmoon,” I said, almost whispering. A deafening silence embraced the hall. I slowly raised my face to look at him when he walked toward me. I blinked my eyes multiple times. The grip on the hem of my dress tightened as I felt my heart almost going out of my chest already.

I shivered in fear when he suddenly tilted my chin up. He narrowed his eyes at me. “I thought you looked familiar… dear miss.”

I creased my forehead and was about to ask what he meant when a realization hit me. My eyes widened, and my lips parted in shock. Holy shit. He was the freakishly handsome man I slapped and called a pervert earlier!

Chapter Seven

I didn’t know what to say.

Oh my gosh. Please, someone, kill me now.

I slapped the Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack! I felt like my blood was drained from my face. I froze, and my eyes widened as I looked at him. Shit! Now, I’m so screwed! I’m really screwed! Will he try to kill me now for disrespecting him earlier?

I was already preparing myself for my doom when he immediately stood. “What do you do? Are you a warrior?” I blinked multiple times. Oh, he’s not going to cut my head off?

“I-I…” I bit my lip. “I’m not,” I said as I bowed my head.
