Finally! Jerk.
I immediately got out of the water and grabbed my clothes as fast as I could. Shit! I felt like my chest was about to explode as I hurriedly put on my clothes again. When I was done, I glanced at the man’s back again, checking if he was trying to take a peak.
Damn it. Why is he even here? I can’t help but feel the irritation rising within me.
Panting, I marched to him.
“Hey, Jerk!” I yelled as I approached him.
He slowly turned around to face me, and I immediately raised my hand to slap his face real hard.
“Perv!” I bellowed angrily before sprinting away.
I ran as fast as I could, not bothering to look back. After a few minutes of running, I finally stopped when I realized I was already far away from that jerk. I was about to sigh in relief when I suddenly heard a voice behind me.
“Why do you look like you’ve run into some monster?”
“Shit!” I clenched my chest in shock. I turned around only to see the familiar face of the woman I saw back in the river earlier.
“Y-You scared me!” I wailed.
She crossed her arms. “Why are you even running like a fugitive?”
“Because t-there’s a perv! T-There!” I said, pointing in the river’s direction. I removed all the stray hairs on my face as I panted.
Her forehead creased while looking in the direction I was pointing, and a hint of confusion was plastered across her face. Then she turned her attention to me.
She must think that I’m a weirdo. I bit my fingernails as I felt the cold wind caress my skin. The cold breeze sent shivers to my body. It can’t be helped since I wasn’t able to dry my body properly.
Damn, it’s that jerk’s fault!
I heard the woman sigh and then stare at me.
“You’re a lone wolf, right?” she asked once again.
I slowly nodded. My body trembled as I felt the coldness of the wind on my bare skin.
“So, you wanna go to our pack?” I immediately looked at her when she said that. She shrugged.
What? Did she just ask me to join their pack?
“Y-You mean the B-Bloodmoon?” I asked, bewildered.
“Uhh yes…” she said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
I went silent for a while, unable to think of what to say. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think of joining the Bloodmoon Pack. They’re our pack’s enemy—except that the pack banished me already. I am no longer part of the Crestmoon pack.
I muttered a curse and looked around. If I don’t accept the offer, I’ll have to spend the rest of my life wandering aimlessly around this forest.
I could never live such a life! I cannot be on my own. Who knows what Daria’s bitches would do once they find me. As a lone wolf, I will be more vulnerable to rogue attacks as well. Shit. I’m definitely screwed.
I turned to the woman again, who was still waiting for my answer. She looks a bit irritated because I’m taking too long to answer. Do I really have no choice? This is Michael’s fault. And damn you, Crestmoon!
I closed my eyes and heaved a sigh. “I-I’ll go with you,” I finally said.
Now, I’ve said it. I just can’t afford to be a lone wolf. This is the only choice available to me right now.
She nodded at my response before offering her hand.
