Brie giggled. “I would love to see them.”
Shey fished her cell phone out of her purse. “Brad insisted on doing everything himself.”
Brie glanced at Master Anderson, who shrugged at her. “I wasn’t about to shirk on a challenge, although I was tempted a few times. Trust me.”
Shey chuckled as she showed Brie her phone. “This was his first attempt at trying to change her diaper.”
Master Anderson suddenly looked sick and covered his face with his hat again, muttering, “Don’t remind me.”
“As you can see by the expression on his face, it wasn’t going well.”
Brie burst out laughing when she saw the look of horror plastered on his face in the picture.
“But, Brad insisted on finishing the job,” Shey continued proudly, swiping to the next picture.
Brie shook her head in amusement as she stared at the photo of Master Anderson donning a leather BDSM mask that covered his nose, along with rubber gloves and an apron. “I’m surprised Hope didn’t freak out when she saw you in this getup.”
“Oh, Brad cooed and sang sweet words to her while he gagged as he changed her diaper.” Shey turned to Master Anderson, smiling. “You really were adorable.”
Master Anderson groaned. “Please, Shey. I’d rather not relive the moment, thank you.”
“You would think a man used to mucking out horse stalls wouldn’t even be fazed by it,” Sir stated with an amused expression.
“Don’t even go there, buddy. Horse manure smells like freaking flowers compared to what I experienced tonight.”
“I’m glad Hope’s asleep and can’t hear what you’re saying,” Brie chided him.
“I mean no disrespect to your little girl, young Brie.” He put his hand to his heart. “I’m just telling it like it is.”
Shey held out her phone to show Brie another picture. “Here’s Hope in the cat sanctuary. Talk about a kid in the candy store.”
Brie laughed. “I bet.”
“At first, the kittens didn’t know what to make of her,” Master Anderson told Brie.
He then turned to Sir. “That baby of yours is a crawling hellion. I have never seen a kid move that fast on all fours.”
Brie smiled. “Shadow’s been an excellent teacher.”
Master Anderson sighed. “Well, lucky for me, my cats entertained her most of the night. All I had to do was sit back and enjoy the show.”
“It was so precious, Brie,” Shey told her. “It’s like Hope and the kittens were all playing a complicated version of tag that only they understood. Every one of the cats got involved, and Hope was eating up all of the attention.”
Brie noticed Hope’s big smile in every one of the pictures as Shey swiped through them. “She looks so happy!”
“I kind of hated to break them up when it was time to feed her,” Master Anderson admitted.
Brie glanced at him, grinning. “And how did that go?”
“Naturally, I wasn’t going to feed her that baby jar crap I found in the bag.”
Sir raised an eyebrow. “What did you feed her, then?”
“A gourmet meal fit for royalty,” he stated proudly.
“Brad spent an hour in the kitchen making it,” Shey told them, smiling at Master Anderson tenderly.
Brie was impressed to hear it but was curious. “How did Hope like the meal?”
