Brie was certain when she saw Mr. Gallant pressing two fingers against his wife’s back that it meant something, too. “What about when you two were heading up the stairs?”

Mr. Gallant smiled kindly. “You are very observant, Mrs. Davis, but that is something we will keep to ourselves.”

Brie nodded, feeling slightly embarrassed that she’d asked.

“No need to feel ashamed for asking, Mrs. Davis,” Mr. Gallant assured her, easily reading the expression on her face.

Turning to Sir, he explained, “I believe it is important for each couple to establish their own silent signals. It prevents us from all doing the same thing and exposing ourselves to possible discovery.”

“Very astute,” Sir agreed.

It relieved Brie to know it was possible to continue their twenty-four seven relationship even as Hope was growing up. Plus, the prospect of coming up with a secret language only Sir and she knew would be so exciting!

“Thank you for sharing so much with us, Mr. Gallant. Even though I’m no longer a student in your class, you still continue to teach me,” Brie gushed.

He nodded to her. “It is my sincere pleasure, Mrs. Davis.”

At the end of the evening, once they made it back home, Brie let out a happy sigh. “This was a wonderful night, Sir.”

“I agree.”

“I’m so glad Baron, Captain, and Candy were there. It’s a dream come true for me that you’ll be training again.”

He put an arm around her. “But this time around, you are going to be by my side.”

Brie stared at him, a feeling of joy washing over her.

How did I get so lucky?

Weekend Retreat

Sir walked into the room where Brie was busy packing. “Babygirl, I’m going to postpone the move temporarily. Besides the countertops, there is an additional change I’d like to make to personalize our home.”

Brie’s curiosity piqued, she put down the vase she’d been wrapping. “What kind of change, Sir?”

“It’s a surprise.”

She raised her eyebrows. “But you know I’m no good with surprises…”

“Exactly,” he said with a charming smirk. “You still lack patience, my little sub. As your Master, it is my solemn duty to assist in your growth in that area.”

Briealmostrolled her eyes but, thankfully, didn’t.

However, Sir was looking at her as if he knew she wanted to. Blushing under his intense scrutiny, she chose to change the subject. “Should I keep packing then?”

“No, while we wait for the contractors to finish, I’d like you to revisit your film projects and decide which one you would like to release next.”

“Yes, Sir,” Brie answered dutifully, then let out a heavy sigh. “I really want to get started filming the documentary about your father and his beloved violin…” She groaned, locked in her indecision.

“But I have all the scenes filmed for that second documentary. It would be easy to finish it, and Mary insists she can help get it released. However, I don’t really want to work with Mr. Holloway again—not after the way he treated Faelan and Mary.”

Sir looked at her thoughtfully. “I encourage you to go over the material you have accumulated for both films. It should help give you some clarity. Your choice should come from the project you feel most passionate about.”

The smile he gave her made her feel cherished. “I see no reason for you to put off your film career any longer, now that I am recovered and Durov has returned to us.”

Brie broke out in a huge smile, still amazed by their good fortune.

“Yes, you are almost fully recovered, and Rytsar won’t have any reason to leave us again. On top of that, we have a beautiful new home on the beach.” She shook her head in amazement. “To think where we were and where we are now…it’s a miracle.”
