“You are going nowhere, little bird,” he taunted her, his mouth against her cheek. “We will clip those wings very soon.”

I ground my teeth. I was ready to pounce on him and beat the shit out of him. I wanted to see his body crumble under my fists.

“Now Olivia, tell me which one of these two touched you.” She pressed her lips tighter together. “Tell me, bitch. Nobody has the right to touch what is mine.”

“I’m not yours. I was never yours,” she whispered the words, but she might as well have shouted them. They had infuriated him so much.

I took a step to the left. Malcome noticed it, exactly as I hoped he would, and he immediately shouted, “Stay right there!” He took a step back and to the right, just as I hoped he would.

Don’t fail me now, Ilya.If all else fails, let this not fail.

“Which one touched you, Olivia?” Malcome yanked her hair hard and a little sound left her throat. That motherfucker was going to pay for that.

“It was me,” I retorted calmly. “That’s right, you sick, old bastard.”

Just as the words left me, and he moved his gun from Olivia’s head towards me, the whistling sound flew through the air and the glass window, hitting Malcome directly into his shoulder. There was a fraction of a second where confusion showed up in his expression. His grip on the gun and Olivia loosened, but that was all we needed. She stomped on his foot and elbowed him so hard, he hunched over, grunting in pain, and tumbled onto the floor.

His gun fell onto the ground, and I quickly reached for it. Then I went for my woman and pulled her away from him. Her body started shaking as she fell into my arms. My brave woman held on to me.

“I’m here,” I soothed her in a low voice. My eyes watched the man that tried to take her away from me. Malcome’s eyes were on me full of hate. “It’s okay, baby,” I murmured into her hair, relief flooding me.

She started sobbing against my chest, and I quickly pulled my jacket off, covering her body.

“It’s okay. You are safe,” I repeated.

Malcome reached for Olivia with his uninjured arm, and I took another step away from him pulling her away. He would never touch her again.

“You are mine, Olivia,” he wailed. “I love you.”

She stiffened in my arms then slowly turned her face to Malcome. Her face was wet with tears, but the look in her eyes was unreadable. She slowly pushed away from me, and the only reason I didn’t object was because she remained close to me.

“You are vile and despicable, Malcome” she shuddered as the words left her lips. “You don’t know what love is. Just the thought of you makes me sick.” She walked over to him, and I trailed right behind her to keep her safe. She leaned over Malcome who was still scrambled on his side, his eyes with sick reverence on my woman. “And there is nothing…” she emphasized the word again as she glared at him, “nothing in this world that I would like better than to see you gutted while you are still alive.”

She was a goddess out for revenge.

“You wouldn’t,” he yelped. “You love me.”

“Your screams of pain would be the best music,” she spat in disgust. “In fact, I’d enjoy it so much that I’d be sure you are alive just long enough to feel every painful moment you bestowed on others.”

He grabbed onto her ankle, and I kicked him hard, his body flying back.

“You never touch my woman,” I growled at him. “In fact, you look away or I’ll dig your eyeballs out.”

Olivia turned her face to me and a small smile, although a shaky one, came to her lips.

“Thank you, love,” she beamed.

Her threats didn’t faze Malcome but hearing her words to me got him all riled up.

“No, no, no.” There was a sick desperation in his voice. “You are mine, Olivia. You love me.”

This time I went for him. My hand wrapped around his neck and lifted him off the ground by gripping it while he choked. “Or maybe we should start by cutting his tongue?” I taunted him.

I roughly shoved him into a chair then spoke into my earpiece. “Ilya, bring me a rope.”

“Where is Vlad?” Dimitry’s asked through his earpiece. “I need eyes on him.”

Silence stretched, and I knew he was gone. Somehow the bastard snuck out, but right now nothing mattered to me as much as the safety of my woman. And we would get her revenge. Together.
