"Because that one," she pointed ever so obviously, "is coming straight towards us."
Chapter Twelve
Dimitri
Iwon.
We had to reduce our petty argument to rock, paper, scissors to see who would approach Seraphina first. There was no reasoning with Dax, oh no. He wanted to put on the moves and dominate her, make her feel how much we wanted her.
No, this had to be calculated. So, I cheated; I might have used the mind-link to slip in Dax' terrifying mind. My Wolf wasn't so happy about that. Something about 'invasion of privacy,' but Dax' wolf gave up the information willingly because he doesn't want this screwed up either.
We knew Seraphina and her friend Zoey were eyeing us at the bar. Our peripheral vision was top-notch, and our hearing even better. I wanted to rip the tongue out of Mary-I'm-so-extra-I-need-two-first-names bitch. Gay? Are you kidding? Sure, we were dressed to the nines, but that doesn't mean we are gay.
Seraphina's pouty mouth remained partially opened as I tucked my sleeves into my dress shirt. Her heart was racing, and hell, mine was too. I never had to approach a woman; they came to me. Even then, I turned them down. We saved ourselves just for her.
Seraphina wasn't just any woman, she was a goddess, and she would be treated as such. As a Wolf, I should grovel at her feet and kiss her little pink toes she painted last night.
Fuck, I was nervous. I was extremely nervous. Was dad ever nervous about meeting mom? Hell, it was hard to read him; I heard so many stories about how he met her. One was at a club setting like this, and he told her to screw off and told her she was a whore, and the other story was that he chased her in a lake, and she climbed up a tree.
Either way, that wasn't happening to my mate.
Declan was pacing; I was panting. Tiny drops of perspiration bubbled at my hairline. Wanting nothing more than to run my fingers through it, I dared not. It was a nervous habit; I didn't want her to know I was nervous; I wanted to be her bad boy.
Trying to walk as confidently as I could, the butterflies in my stomach wouldn't stop. If I held my hand up, I'm sure it was shaking. And they think the good-looking guys don't get nervous. Hell, we do; I hope my pits don't sweat before I reach her, just a few steps away.
"Mate," Declan howled like it was the first time we saw her.
I stopped right in front of her, using my two human eyes to gaze into her beautiful green ones. Gold flecks flickered as the strobe lights hit at different angles at the bar. "Hi," I spat out. I heard a snort in the mind link.
"That was pathetic,"Dax laughed again.
I cleared my throat to ignore his worthless badgering.
"Hi," Seraphina whispered; her eyes became enormous, and her friend glanced at both of us. Her head was out of control the way she whipped her head back and forth. My eyes never left Seraphina's as Trey came up and pulled a worried Zoey away.
"But I'm her wing-woman... I got to talk her up!" She squealed as she tried to crawl back.
"She's doing just fine, now come on." Trey pulled her away while both Seraphina and I locked eyes.
"I'm Dimitri," Seraphina didn't move, and I thought she didn't hear me, so I leaned over and ever so carefully whispered in her ear. "I'm Dimitri. What's yours?" My lips touched the shell of her ear, and her body instantly shivered.
"Smooth," Dax joked.
"Seraphina," she spoke. The music was a bit loud; I heard her loud and clear, but I needed another excuse to come closer. I leaned in and put my ear next to her face. "Seraphina," she said a bit louder. I gave her a smile, and her heart picked up again.
"Dance with me," I didn't give her the option; I pulled her hand up and frowned at the cardigan. I had hoped she had ditched it by the time we got here. Pulling it gently off her shoulders, my fingertips grazed the strapless side of the dress. Biting my lip, so I don't come in my pants right there, my eyes never left hers as I threw the worthless scrap of material to the bar. My hand wraps around her waist as I lead her to the dance floor.
Her eyes never left me, which gave a boost to my ego. For once in my life, I worried about my looks; did she find me attractive? Back home, we had she-wolves lining up trying to get in our pants. But now I questioned. Seraphina didn't come to us. That made me more intrigued and made me want her even more. The hunter to his prey.
I felt her still staring at the side of my face as I looked towards the middle of the floor. I wanted her right in the center, where that annoying cashier would see the perfect vision of me grinding Seraphina. Gay my ass.
I swung Seraphina's body flushed against mine. There wasn't a puff of air between her breasts and my chest. My hands lowered to her waist, maybe grazing her lower back as her hips began to move along with mine. Too Close by Next came on, and damn, the gods blessed me with the best song for this moment.
Seraphina became more comfortable with my hands, so I moved them up her waist and back, and she did the same. Her dainty hands trailed up my chest as I tried to suppress a low growl. Surely, she couldn't hear it, but I knew she felt it. The dull purr tickled her fingertips as she let out a harsh breath. Her body let out her sweet scent of arousal; the first sniff was intoxicating. Her cinnamon ginger snap smell was now dipped in her honey, and my dick instantly grew hard. A squeak sounded from her throat as Dax had to barge in. Seraphina had just become comfortable dancing with me, and now Dax goes to push the limit.
I'm going to have to roll with it.
Dax gave her a wink and slid his hands around her waist. His look of shock went into a look of lust as her ass backed up against him.
