Shade

My surprise for Meadowwas the following day. Angel helped me set up everything while we were gone and over the following days, I made sure Meadow was none the wiser. This surprise would be bring us even closer together. For us as a couple and as a family. With baby number two on the way, I wanted to reassure my wife that I wasn’t going anywhere.

I often thought back to what she had mentioned back at the club. But no matter how much she was willing to do whatever she could to make me happy, I didn’t want another guy in our little duo. What Meadow and I did at the BDSM club was enough. Submitting to her was enough. She was enough. And my surprise for her would show her exactly how much she meant to me and how she was it. She was all I needed. No one else. No other women. No other men. Just her, me, Andrew and our future children. They were enough.

“Shade.”

I jumped, my head snapping up and finding Angel coming up to me. We were in the backyard. I was helping with cooking on the grill while Meadow helped her mom inside.

Angel chuckled, handing me a beer. “Sorry, didn’t mean to startle you.”

“Thank you.” I took a long swig, letting out a sigh after I swallowed.

“That bad?”

“I just want everything to go perfectly tomorrow.”

“I get that. It’s like you’re getting married all over again.” He nodded toward the house. “Does she suspect anything?”

“No, not at all.” Morning sickness was kicking her ass, her words, so I was sure she wasn’t able to focus on anything other than keeping her food down.

“Are you going to take her anywhere? I know this is last minute, but you never really got a honeymoon the first time around.”

“I actually have another idea.” And that idea was burning a whole in my pocket. “Thank you for keeping this intimate.”

“You’re welcome. I know everyone is going to be there tomorrow anyway and whatever you’re doing tonight, I figured you’d want to keep it with just you and Meadow.”

I nodded. “I do and thank you for agreeing to watch Andrew again for this weekend.”

Angel clapped my shoulder, giving it a squeeze. “You never have to thank us. Andrew is our world.” He gave my shoulder a final squeeze before joining the ladies in the house.

Meadow took that moment to come out, holding a bottle of water. “Hey.”

“Hi, Little Lamb.” I closed the distance between us and pulled her into my arms. “How are you feeling?”

“Better.” She pushed her hands into my leather cut and wrapped her arms around my middle.

Pushing out of her hold, I reached into my pocket and pulled out the small black velvet box.

Her eyes caught the movement, widening when she saw what I was holding. “Shade, what’s that?”

“I was going to make this all romantic and shit, with flowers everywhere, all the people you love,” I brought her hand up to my mouth. “But this is better.” I lowered to one knee, opening the box. “I love you more now than I did the day I married you. I want to renew our vows and make new vows to one another.”

She fell to her knees in front of me, tears streaming down her cheeks.

“Will you renew our vows with me, baby?”

Meadow threw herself into my arms, a sob escaping her. “Yes, God, Shade, yes, I’ll marry you over and over again.” She ran her hands through my hair, crushing her mouth to mine.

The saltiness of her tears, tickled my tongue. “I love you, Little Lamb.”

“I love you, baby.”

I pulled the ring out of the box and pulled her wedding set off her finger. “This ring signifies our love for each other and for Sunny.”

Her breath hitched.

“I had the designer intertwine three gold bands together. Yours is lined with diamonds, while Sunny’s and mine are plain. I know you love your set but this one will go perfectly with your engagement ring.”
