“Yes.”

“Would they also know what a naughty girl you are?” He tugged her hair, forcing her head back so he could look onto her eyes. “How you didn’t listen to the one thing I ordered you not to do?”

“I won’t do it again.”

“I hope not.”

He closed his eyes as he brought himself closer to exploding inside her. For a brief moment, he thought about slowing down, taking his time so she could release too. No. How could she ever respect him if he gave into her charms so easily? He pulled her hair harder when he could hold off no longer, spiraling down, plunging into pure bliss, he gave her everything he had. He always would.

I needed that.

He let go of her hair as he slipped from her warmth, knowing he’d left her needy and unsatisfied, but there were consequences to her actions and she would soon learn he wasn’t very forgiving.

“Are you okay?” He massaged her scalp, hoping he hadn’t been too rough.

She nodded, trying to slow her breaths.

“Don’t move until I tell you.” He released her from his hold, placing her hands against the cool glass of the window again. “It’s much more pleasurable for me to reward you than it is to punish you.”

He pulled up his pants, taking his time to raise his zipper, tuck in his shirt, and buckle his belt. When he finished putting himself back together, he bent down and slid her thong up before adjusting her dress. He skimmed his hand along her back, swiping her hair to the side.

“Can I expect you at my house on Friday evening?”

“Yes.”

“Francis will take you home now,” he instructed. “He’ll also pick you up tomorrow around five-thirty.” He turned her to face him, gently placing his hand on the side of her face. “I hope the weekend is full of rewards.”

Chapter 11

On Friday morning Julian was more on edge than he would have liked. What occurred at the club the evening before weighed heavily on his mind. Was Kayla too new to their arrangement for a punishment? It wasn’t a harsh chastisement, but he had exerted his dominance over her. Something she was adamant she had wanted. Now that he’d done it, would she change her mind? Could he handle that? Would he be prepared to watch her walk away?

“Mr. Anders,” Chloe’s soft voice echoed through the intercom. “Jack Quinn is on the line for you. He says it’s not important, but if you had a few minutes…”

“Put him through.” Jack was another situation that needed to be dealt with. If Julian was going to continue a relationship with Kayla, they were going to have to address Jack. “Hey, man,” Julian said. “What’s up?”

“Sorry to bother you,” Jack apologized. “I’ll make it quick.”

“You’re not bothering me. My head isn’t where it needs to be, so the distraction is welcomed.”

“Anything I can do?”

“No.” He was certain Jack wouldn’t like what Julian was thinking. “What’s up?”

“Have you had a chance to look into anything for Kayla?”

“Yeah, about that, when I took her home last week, she said she wanted to stay at the station for a while longer to see if it really was for her. Something about your dad calling in some favors and she didn’t want to give up so easily.” He admired Kayla’s determination. Most people her age wouldn’t be so responsible, but she’d made an agreement with her dad, and she was doing her best to make it work. “I told her if she changed her mind, I’d help her out.”

“Thanks.” Jack sighed.

“What’s wrong?”

“Caroline mentioned that Kayla told her some ass was hitting on her at the station, one of her bosses, I think, and she’s not comfortable with it.”

What the fuck?

“She told Caroline she could handle it, and I’m sure she can. But since she doesn’t really like it there anyway, I thought if you had another alternative, maybe she would listen to you.”

Oh, she’ll listen all right.
