“What do you wanna watch?” Six asked.

I opened up the package of pacifiers. “Um, I don’t know. I usually just watch whatever Vito has on.”

“What do you like?”

I shrugged. “I didn’t watch a lot of movies over the past few years. Whatever was on the TV was just on or I let someone else pick because it would calm them down.”

Six nodded. “Well now you’re out and with freedom comes perks,” he said as he tilted his head. “Have you watched Marvel?”

I tapped the pacifier against my lip and nipped at it. This is a good one. I sucked on it for a second before I took it out and set it on the table. Once Vito and I were alone, I would get to fully enjoy it.

I blinked at Six. “Sorry, I got distracted. Not since 2016.”

Six lit up. “That’s it, we’re watching superhero movies.” He effortlessly found them and purchased one after the other as I fidgeted. Six gazed at me and smiled. “It’s fine. Ama will pay Vito back if you’re worried about getting in trouble.”

I let out a deep breath. “Thank you.”

“You’re adorable,” Six mused. “Maybe some of your goodness will rub off on me.”

I shook my head. “Yeah, I don’t think so.”

Six’s jaw dropped. “Hey, you little shit.” He laughed. “You’re going to fit right in.”

I smiled and curled up on the couch. He’s not so bad.

“I might need your help figuring out what’s going on,” I said, trying not to be awkward.

“Don’t worry about it. I’ll explain everything.

Six’s laid-back manner put me at ease. I felt like I could talk to him and he would never judge me. Maybe I’d finally made a friend.
