I spend the next three days thinking of what to say and ask in the meeting the following day. I can’t risk them finding out or even getting a hint of my plan. I never thought I would be that invested in a stranger’s life after being discharged from the army. I never stopped being a soldier, I simply ceased performing my duties.

I don’t have to come up with a list of insights that I will be sharing with Enzo’s colleagues the next day. I have every detail about the Hades Inferno MC at my fingertips. My only concern is what I will do about Everleigh. Over the past three days, I have thought of the various ways the conversation will go and with each of them I came up with a way to have the spotlight on Everleigh. If things go according to my plan, I will get a chance to talk to her alone– something that I am really looking forward to.

The last thing I want is Hawk or any other biker seeing me leave my room in a suit. They all know any club meeting and operation should be attended while wearing a jacket with the club’s logo or a cut off vest with the same. They all know I don’t have any other commitments so seeing me in a suit would start giving them ideas.

“You are early,” Jim says after opening the front door for me.

“I know. I just want to make sure I don’t mess anything up,” I respond following him inside.

“What is there to be messed up?”

“My plan, of course, you dumb ass.”

“Okay sorry. You do realize you are the president of the MC, right? I mean, you can do literally anything and no one is going to question you.”

“You’re right. They won’t but they will stop respecting me and upholding the rules I lay down for them. I wouldn’t really be president if that happened, would I?” Jim does not respond.

“Did you get my suit from the dry cleaners?”

“I am the dry cleaners, and your only suit is in my room. You will find it on the bed.”

“Thanks, buddy.”
