Damien …
It felt good.
He was strong and solid.
Mikhail was the comfort I didn’t know I needed, Nikolay was the excitement I didn’t know I was missing out on, and Damien was the steadiness I craved.
He was safe.
A dangerous man, but who could better protect me from all the monsters in the world than the biggest, scariest one of them all?
I moved closer to him.
He cleaned me.
I didn’t have the energy to help him, and it didn’t look like he minded it so much.
His hands slid softly against my skin with soap before he washed my hair.
I had never felt more relaxed.
I was barely paying attention when he carried me out of the bathtub. He dried me with the fluffy white towel and led me back to bed.
I moved to the end where the drawers were, pulling out another pair of panties. I was quickly running out of clean ones, and I made a mental note to wash them tomorrow.
Damien snatched the pair out of my hands before I could put them on, and threw them back in the drawer, closing it. I looked at him.
He tapped my lip.
I didn’t even realize I was pouting until then, and quickly schooled my features.
He laughed.
I didn’t think I had ever heard him laugh so much in one day—or at all, really.
“Get in bed, pet.”
I looked at the drawers. No underwear. I doubted he would let me wear a shirt.
He leaned down until his lips were millimeters away from my ear. I shivered.
“Naked. Get in bed naked.”
I peeked sideways at him.
“If it makes you feel any better, I’ll be naked, too.”
I quickly crawled into bed and under the blanket before he could see my red face. Yeah, that did not make me feel better.
He let out a dark chuckle.
The bed shifted when he climbed in. He pulled the covers over him, and me close to hisnakedbody, burying his face in my hair.
“Sleep. Or I’ll think of something creative to do to wear you out.”
I closed my eyes and forced my muscles to relax. Yeah, I was sleeping.
The last thing that registered in my mind was his dark chuckle.
