“Nothing…” she whispered.
He tried to speak again.
“Nothing…” she repeated.
Coop slowly moved her hand away from his face as he leaned in and kissed her gently on the lips. As he pulled her close to him, Cara put her cheek on his chest. She could feel his heartbeat through his shirt.
“You know, this is all your fault…” Coop whispered.
Cara took the bait.
“And how is that?”
“For the first time in months, I actually wanted to leave my apartment. If you weren’t so damn cute we wouldn’t be here right now.”
“The feeling is mutual…” Cara smiled, her cheek feeling at home on his chest.
“Nothing...” Coop replied.
