“Fuck…” Cole hisses, watching her, a dark look in his eyes. Shayla lifts her eyes to his and swipes her tongue slowly along her lips.
“You want it, baby?” She whispers, and Cole nods, staring at her impatiently. “Take it.” And he did till she was gasping his name.
One month after honeymoon…
“Honey, where do you want these boxes?” Cole calls out to his wife as he walks through their brand-new home. “Shayla?” Cole frowns, setting the boxes down, and follows the sound of music to their bedroom. He stops when he sees her dancing while she unpacks. Cole smiles, leaning against the door, watching her sway her hips while she folds clothes, completely oblivious to everything around her. Cole walks over, grabs her by the waist spinning her around. He dips her down and kisses her. Shayla smiles, circling her arms around his neck, kissing him back eagerly. Cole pulls her back up and gazes into her eyes. “Can you promise me something?”
“Anything.”
Cole smiles, brushing his fingers through her hair. “Don’t ever stop dancing around the house like this.” Shayla laughs, shaking her head.
“Oh baby, I won’t ever stop doing that. I physically can’t stop dancing if music is playing. It’s in my blood.” She assures him, and he beams at her. “I can’t wait to gross out our children.” Cole chuckles and kisses her forehead.
“Me either.” He pulls away from her and frowns when Shayla staggers a little. He holds her waist, steadying her. “You okay?” He questions, concerned, and she shakes her head, laughing a little.
“Yeah, you got me all woozy with that kiss.” She tells him, and Cole grins, smacking her bum.
“I’ll follow up later, baby.” He promises with a wink and leaves the bedroom. Shayla smiles, shaking her head before she goes back to unpacking the boxes.
Two weeks later, they were finally unpacked and settled into their new home. “Hey Shay, what are we doing for mum on her birthday?” Sam questions, and Shayla shakes her head with a shrug.
“I don’t know, Sam. I’ll figure something out. We still have a couple of weeks to plan it out.” She tells him while mixing the guacamole dip. Cole comes over and kisses her cheek, holding a sushi piece for her to eat, but she winces and shakes her head. “Ugh, no, I don’t want it, Bebe.”
“But it’s your favourite?” He utters with a frown, and Shayla shakes her head.
“Not in the mood for Sushi. I’m good with my crackers and dip.” She replies with a smile. Cole shrugs and walks back over to Josh and Sam while they pick a film to watch.
“You okay, Shayla? You look really pale?” Jo asks, and Shayla nods.
“Yeah, I’m okay. I think I’ve got a stomach bug or something. I’ve been feeling really sick and run down lately.” She answers with a shrug, and the girls look at one another and back at Shayla.
“Sore boobs?” Aimee asks, and Shayla blinks at her and nods.
“Actually, yeah, they have been very sensitive this past week, but Cole has been in a friskier mood than usual, and there’s been a lot of nipple biting and sucking, so I’m not surprised they’re sore.”
“Shay, are you sure you’re not pregnant?” Jo asks, smiling, and Shayla chuckles, shaking her head.
“God no, I took a test two weeks ago, it was negative. No baby, sorry girls. Grab the popcorn.” The girls shrug and follow Shayla to the cinema room, and they all settle in their love chairs with their men. “What are we watching?” She asks, leaning back against Cole, who kisses her neck.
“Scarface,” Cole announces proudly, and the girl’s all groan. “What, it’s a classic?”
Aimee rolls her eyes as she settles herself in Josh’s arms. “Yeah, a classic man movie.”
“Say ‘ello to my little friend.” The boys all chant together, and Shayla laughs when Aimee shoves a hand full of popcorn in Josh’s mouth, who scowls at her.
Three weeks go by, and Cole was getting ready for another day at the office. “Baby, are you ready?” He calls out and drops his cufflink, which bounces off the bathroom's marble counter and lands in the trash. “Damn it.” He kneels and fishes through the rubbish, searching for his cufflink but frowns when his fingers brush against something hard. He pulls out the pregnancy test and looks at it unblinking. Staring at the word ‘Pregnant’ for over a minute.
“Honey…” Cole gets up and walks out of the bathroom. Shayla looks back at him with a frown till she sees him holding a pregnancy test in his hand. “What is this? Are you pregnant?”
Shayla turns and faces him, her green eyes wide, “Uh, I think so?” She states with a shrug, and Cole looks at her, stunned.
“You think so? This thing says you are?”
“Baby, those tests aren’t always accurate.” She tells him while putting her earrings in. Cole shakes his head and walks over to her, grabs her hand, and pulls her out of the bedroom. “Cole, where are you taking me?”
“We’re going to buy more tests. I need to know right now if you’re having my baby or not.” He mutters, pulling her toward the car, stuffing her in the passenger seat.
Ten minutes later, they were stood in a drug store looking at the line of pregnancy tests. Shayla looks at each one chewing her lip gingerly while Cole impatiently paces back and forth. “Honey, pick one, would you? You’re killing me here.”
