Cole smirks, and his gaze drift down to my lips, “Let them.” He murmurs, his voice deep and smooth. “Answer my question, yes or no.”

Say no, say no!

I curse the stupid, stubborn girl inside of me that refuses to give him the satisfaction of being right. “Yes,” I say before I can stop myself. Fuck

Cole smiles lazily and licks his lips, his eyes on mine. “That’s my girl.” He mouths, shifting so he was directly on top of me. He pushes my legs apart using his right knee and laces our fingers before pressing his forehead to mine. His thigh comes up in between my legs. I swallow hard, and my mouth suddenly goes dry when I feel his breath on my throat, “Do you remember the night we spent together in Vegas, sweetheart?”

“Yes,”

“Do you remember what I whispered in your ear in the elevator?” He groans in my ear, and I feel an unnatural heat rush through me at the tone of his voice. I nod silently, closing my eyes. “Tell me.”

“I can’t wait to taste you, baby.” I breathe, and he moans, brushing his lips over the shell of my ear lightly.

“What if I told you that I can still remember just the way you taste and would give anything to taste you again.” He whispers. “Would you let me taste your honey, baby? Would you let me run my tongue over your clit and suck it, just a little?” I felt an ache in between my legs and moan. My hips rock on impulse, and when my sex makes contact with his thigh, I shudder. “What if I told you that I wish I could bury myself deep inside your tight, wet pussy right now, just to feel you choking my cock as you come hard for me. Would you want me to, baby?” He groans while gently nipping at my ear. I feel the hard length of him pressing against my hip and bite my lip hard, willing myself to keep still, but my body defies me, and I rock against him urgently. He hisses, and every hair on my body stands on end. I tighten my fingers around his own, and he raises his thigh higher, so I could rub myself against him harder.

“What if I told you that I was dying to kiss you right now.” He closes his eyes, pressing his forehead to mine. “Would you let me, baby?” He whispers, his lips a breath away from mine. I couldn’t think straight. Every nerve in my entire body was tingling. I want him so bad, and I honestly thought I would die if he didn’t touch me.

“Cole.” I whimper, arching up when I feel that familiar heat building up inside me and rushing straight down to my core. “Christ, Cole…I …oh god, I’m going to come.”

“Come for me, Shayla. Let me watch you come apart for me.” I rock my hips once, twice, and I bite my lip hard to stop from screaming as I climax. I shudder in his arms as I hit the peak of my orgasm, and he covers my mouth with his hand to smother my cries of pleasure. Cole presses his lips to my temple, smiling as my body begins to settle down. I peel my eyes open and look up at him panting, and I feel my cheeks burn. Did that really just happen?

“How did you—I can’t believe I just—oh, Christ.” I stammer, closing my eyes. My face aflame, I try to look away from his intense gaze, but he stops me and gently turns my head, so I could look at him.

“The difference between confidence and arrogance is empathy, Shayla. A man that is confident within himself doesn’t need to brag or seek assurance from others around him because he already has an awareness of his abilities and qualities.” He says, brushing his thumb along my jaw. “Don’t you ever be ashamed of your desires because that was so incredibly sexy.”

I sigh and lick my lips, “That’s easy for you to say. You’re not the one being defied by your own body.” Cole chuckles and bites his lip.

“Oh, please. I get defied by my own body at least four times a day.” He says and looks down at the very visible bulge in his jeans. “Case and point.”

I chew my bottom lip gingerly, wondering if the girls heard anything, and as if on cue, I hear their voices approaching. I shove Cole off me and quickly sit up, fixing my shirt just as the door opens and Aimee walks in.

“Oh. You’re still here. I thought you would have left already.” She says, looking at me and then at Cole, sprawled out on the bed, his back against the wall and my pillow on his lap.

“Uh, yes, we were just talking about um…work stuff,” I answer, looking over at Cole, smiling at me knowingly, and nods. Aimee frowns a little and gives us a very wary look before she picks up my maroon jacket from the back of the door.

“Right. Well, I just came to get this, so you guys can go back to your ‘talking’ about ‘work stuff.’” She drawls, making air quotes with her fingers as she walks out of the room with a grin on her face. The door closes, and I slap Cole's leg when he starts to laugh.

“Ow, why are you hitting me.” He grumbles, rubbing his thigh.

“You could have been a little more helpful instead of sitting there smirking like an idiot. Now she thinks we were up to no good in here,” I say in a huff, and Cole laughs again.

“Well, she would be right because we were up to no good. Besides, your face is all flustered, and your hair is a mess. So, at the very least, she’s going to think she interrupted a very steamy makeout sesh.” He says with an amused smirk. I pull the pillow from his hold and hit him with it.

“Oh my God, I really wish the ground would open up and swallow me whole right now.” I feel Cole shift on the bed and sit beside me.

“Shayla, I am your husband. It is only natural for people to assume we get it on when the doors are closed. We’re not doing anything out of the ordinary—as far as others are concerned anyway.” He explains, bumping his shoulder with mine.

“Cole, they’re my best friends. They know this whole thing is a sham. I told them.”

He nods, “Ah, I see.”

“Ugh. Come on, let's go already before I change my mind, unpack my stuff, and stay here,” I say, picking up my suitcase. Cole nods, picks up the box before he takes the suitcase from me, and walks out of the room.

“Go say bye to your girls. I’ll wait for you in the car.” I sigh and look around my bedroom one last time before I walk out and close the door. I stroll over to the living room where Jo and Aimee were stood waving at Cole as he leaves the apartment.

“Well, I guess I’ll see you guys soon,” I pout, and we all hug.

“I’m going to miss you, Bish,” Jo says, tightening her arms around me.
