“Baby, come on, let’s dance,” Sophie coos taking my hand and pulling me into the crowd of dancing people. I watch as Josh walks over to Shayla, and the girls pull him in to dance with her. I couldn’t fucking see shit, there were too many people around, and Sophie's damn head keeps getting in my way. I fist my hands in annoyance at my side as Sophie grinds her bony arse on my groin. I wrap my arm around her when she staggers a little in her heels, she’s not as graceful as Shayla when it comes to dancing, and I didn’t want her to fall over and hurt the baby as I slowly move toward Shayla. My eyes were glued to Josh and Shayla dancing together, laughing like they were having a blast. They were dancing in perfect rhythm with one another, and it made my insides burn with envy.

I’m going to knock that bastard into the middle of next week in a minute. I’m genuinely struggling to keep my rage in check. I finally manage to catch Shayla’s eyes, and her smile falters as she looks at me, probably noticing the irritation in my eyes while I watch her dancing with my best friend. Josh spins her around, so her back was pressed to his chest as they sway together.

Mother fucker!

“Ow, baby, why are you squeezing my hip so hard?” Sophie complains, turning to face me with a frown. I look at her and shake my head, resisting the urge to look over at Shayla. I lick my lips.

“Sorry, I got caught up with the dancing.” I lie, and Sophie grins, wrapping her arms around my neck, and starts kissing along my jaw.

I sigh and pull my head back. “Soph, stop.” I hear her sigh and her shoulders drop when she pulls away and looks over at Josh and Shayla dancing together.

“Where did she learn to dance like that?” Sophie scoffs, looking over at Shayla dancing sensually; the acidity in her voice made me smirk.

“Her mother, she was a dancer when she was younger, before she met and got married to Shay’s Dad. She taught Shayla when she was a little girl, and the rest she picked up by watching her mother dancing around the house.” I explain, watching her intently. She looks so fucking hot, the way her hips sway to the rhythm of the music, her hair blowing back with the breeze, the way she smiles and bites her lip. I groan in frustration.

As pissed off as I was, I was so envious of Josh at that moment.

It suddenly starts to rain—a sudden downpour. It was absolutely chucking it down, and the crowd dancing all cheer and continue to dance, not even fazed in the slightest that they were getting soaked. I couldn’t contain my smile when I see Shayla tilt her head back, eyes closed, the rain absolutely soaking her while she dances.

“Oh my God, my hair! Tristan, let’s go! My clothes are getting ruined.” Sophie shrieks covering her head with her arms while she runs to a cart for shelter from the rain. The song finally comes to an end, and they walk over to us laughing. Shayla avoids my gaze as she walks past me with Josh and the girls. The rain slows to a drizzle, and Josh shakes the water out of his hair, spraying Shayla, who chuckles, brushing her fingers through her wet hair.

“How has it taken me this long to find out about this place. I honestly haven’t had this much fun in a very long time, and I’m constantly out on the town.” He tells the girls, who grin at him.

“Oh, this is nothing, my friend. In a couple of weeks, they have The Bubble festival.” Aimee tells Josh, who smirks excitedly. “Imagine this, but bigger in Hyde Park. Food, live bands, dancing, foam, and paint pits.” Aimee explains and grins at Shayla, who shakes her head smiling.

“It’s messy, but it’s so much fun. You will love it,” Shayla tells Josh, who nods.

“Oh, I’ll be there. Maybe we can all go together?” Josh suggests while Shayla and the girls nod in agreement.

“Why not.”

I clear my throat interrupting their conversation. “Are you ready to go?” I ask Shayla and Josh, who look at one another just as Sophie comes back when the rain stops.

“Actually, we’re going to stay a little longer. I’m still dying to try out more food, and the girls want to drink some margaritas. They’ve kindly offered me a ride home, so I’ll pick my car up from yours tomorrow,” Josh informs me, and I nod, looking at Shayla, who holds my gaze for a moment.

“Girls, I’ll be right back. I just need to go give Rico something.” Shayla says, and I watch her as she walks off into the crowd.

“I should go say bye to Rico, Sophie, you go to the car. I’ll be there in a bit.” I say and hand her the car keys. Sophie begins complaining once again and asks Josh to walk her to the car as I follow Shayla.

I see her say something to Rico, and he nods, winking at her. Shayla smiles at him and blows him a kiss. When she turns around, she crashes into me. Shayla gasps and looks up at me, her green eyes wide as I curl my fingers around her wrist and wave to Rico, who gives me a thumbs up in return. I pull Shayla through the crowd of people until I find a private spot away from prying eyes behind a vendor’s truck and press her up against the wall. “What are you doing?” She questions, looking up at me with a frown.

“What am I doing?” I hiss, scowling at her. “I was watching you flirting shamelessly with my best friend Shayla. What the hell do you think you’re doing?”

Shayla’s brow goes up as she glares at me. “I’m not flirting with him. I was just being nice and showing him around. What the hell is your problem?”

“Oh really, you call dancing heatedly with him being nice. His hands were all over you!” I growl, and she narrows her eyes at me with a snort.

“Oh, that’s mighty rich coming from you. I can’t have an innocent dance with Josh, but it’s okay for me to watch Sophie's hands all over you and watch while you slobber all over each other?” She snaps hotly while glaring at me and tries to walk away, but I cage her in by placing my arms on either side of her on the wall.

I lick my lips and look down into her fiery gaze, and my stomach twists. “I didn’t kiss her. She kissed me.”

Shayla rolls her eyes. “Oh here we go. I couldn’t care less who kissed whom, Cole. If you’re so damn bothered about seeing me with Josh, why the hell did you come with us?” She questions hotly, and I bite my bottom lip.

“Maybe I fancied myself a Shayla special,” I reply with a shrug, and she narrows her eyes at me while I stare at her lips.

“Oh bullshit,” She retorts. “You were glaring daggers at us all evening Cole. You only came here tonight because you couldn’t bear the thought of leaving me alone with Josh. Admit it.”

“You’re damn right I did.” I hiss irritably while staring into her eyes. “Did you honestly expect me to be okay with you two going off alone together? Have you lost your damn mind?”
