She loved the ferocity of their lovemaking. It was both powerful and raw!

Knowing that time was up, Sir set her back down. Brie stood there mutely, looking up at him in wonder as her entire body tingled with satisfaction.

Leaning one hand against the wall for support, he gave her a quick kiss while he caught his breath. “I’d say we have less than five minutes.”

Brie quickly slipped her clothes back on. She was in the middle of pulling her skirt up when the doorbell rang.

Sir hastily grabbed a kitchen towel to clean up her watery excitement. “Go ahead and answer the door, babygirl,” he said calmly as if they hadn’t had the best quickie she’d ever experienced.

Still trembling from the mind-blowing sex, Brie opened the door and smiled when she heard Hope cry, “Mama!”

Taking Hope into her arms, Brie told Uncle Jack, “Thank you so much for watching the children for us.” She turned to Judy who was holding Antony and added, “We appreciate it so much. Please come in!”

“We enjoy watching the children,” Judy assured her. “It’s a joy to see Jonathan playing with your kids. It’s good for him to learn the importance of family at his age.”

The moment they entered the house and Judy saw Sir cleaning the floor, she immediately said, “Oh, let me help you with that, Thane.”

Sir chuckled good-naturedly as he finished wiping up the last of Brie’s come. “No need, Auntie. Brie just spilled a little. It’s nothing.”

He glanced at Brie and gave her a private wink.

She instantly blushed and giggled as she turned away to rub noses with Hope. “Did you have fun with your cousin, sweet pea?”

Hope pointed to Jonathan excitedly. “Jon-Jon.”

Brie set her down and Hope toddled up to him and hugged him around the neck. Brie grinned as she gazed at the little boy. Although he was full of boundless energy at age three, Jonathan had a tender way whenever he was near Hope. Brie could see his resemblance to Lilly more clearly as time passed. It was reflected in the shape of his eyes, his mannerisms, and his engaging smile.

Although Lilly was the bane of Brie’s existence, she refused to let it color her feelings toward the little boy. Jonathan was flourishing under Jack and Judy’s loving care.

He deserved a future untainted by his lineage.

Based on the success of Brie’s recent scene with Faelan, Sir felt comfortable with the timing of her next challenge. As for Brie, she was over the moon when she found out what was coming. She spent the day on pins and needles, impatient for her next scene to begin.

Unlike the sessions before, Sir insisted on leaving Brie alone, choosing to take the children with him to visit her parents instead. “I’m concerned that my presence could hinder the scene. Besides, the tension between your father and I must be resolved and I am certain I can reason with him.”

Brie frowned, looking at him with sympathy. She knew how stubborn her father could be. “I wish you luck, Sir.”

Before leaving the house with the kids, Sir turned to face her and said tenderly, “I know you, babygirl. You always race forward, hungry to conquer the next thing that stands in your way. But healing takes time. Be patient with yourself today.”

She chuckled softly. “I will try, Sir.”

He raised an eyebrow.

She immediately corrected herself. “I will, Sir.”

“Much better,” he said, kissing her on the forehead.

Brie hugged both of their children and then gave Sir a good luck kiss before they left.

She was struck by how empty the house felt once they were gone and sighed loudly. She looked down when Shadow pressed his cheek against her leg. “It’s just you and me, kid.”

She knelt on the floor in the middle of the living room, and Shadow immediately crawled into her lap. Brie stilled her mind as she listened to the cat’s low, rumbling purr. It was so peaceful and calming that she was startled when she heard the light rap on the back door.

Brie opened her eyes and grinned when she saw Tono through the glass of the door. Shadow leaped out of her lap and ran to it.

She stood up gracefully before hurrying to let him in. His long, dark bangs partially covered those chocolate brown eyes. That, combined with his gentle smile, still had the power to give her butterflies.

“Tono!” she cried as she opened the door wide and invited him inside.
