"Fucking hell," Gideon panted above her, and she could feel his length against her thigh and knew immediately what he intended.
Eagerly she let him pull and turn her by her hips until he had her legs dangling half off the bed. Pressing himself against her, she could feel him pull his boxers partway down, just enough to release himself and align himself at her entrance.
"You will stop," the sinister voice on the line commanded, and they both stilled in shock.
"What the fuck are you talking about?" Gideon said through gritted teeth.
"Exactly what I said, you both are done for tonight," he informed them merrily. "Get up and get dressed."
He couldn’t be serious, her body was burning with need. Feeling Gideon begin to pull away from her, Jade wrapped her legs around him and reached upward until she felt his shoulder. Pulling him down against her with desperate strength, she shuddered at the groan he released and held him tighter.
"No, Dimitri, please don't do this," she pleaded, ignoring Gideon's stiffening muscles at the sound of the other man's name.
"Fuck, that's low, sweetheart," the man's voice murmured through her earbud. "Don't beg me like that. All it does is make me want to come up there and finish this myself. Is that what you want? Because I won't mind in the least," and Jade could just imagine the blonde's glacial cruel smile as he said it.
Releasing her hold of Gideon, her heart ached as he reluctantly pulled away from her, placing one last kiss on her cheek.
"I didn't think so," Dimitri stated. "Now get up, both of you. For the remainder of the night, you will not talk to one another, touch each other, not even kiss. If you do, I will send Dominic to you, and I promise you, he is more than eager about the prospect."
Before she could argue, the line disconnected.
Ripping off her mask, Jade squinted at the piercing light of the afternoon sun glaring through the windows. Blinking a few times, she looked up to see Gideon standing in his dark green boxer-briefs next to the bed. His body looked so good, a small groan escaped her throat before she could stop it. Gideon grinned, his eyes darkening, and he took a step forward as if to touch her when he suddenly stopped in realization. The look of hunger vanished under annoyance, and he turned around and waved at her to follow.
The remainder of the day was pure torture. In silence, they each showered and dressed, both taking care not to let their eyes linger on the other for too long. Each time she looked at him, Jade felt her chest constrict with the unbearable need to speak. She wanted to apologize, to profess her love for him, to ask him questions about his feelings for her, but each time the need welled up visibly within her, Gideon would shake his head and point to the blank phone sitting on the table surrounded by the unused earbuds.
After ordering dinner, they both sat on the far end of the couch in sulky silence. This was beyond cruel! To know that they both had feelings for each other that they could finally express without fear and now forced to keep it bottled up under threat.
Having an idea, Jade leaned over on the couch, crossing the distance between them, and plucked the remote from his hand. Going to the movie search function, she typed in the movie title to an old eighties movie.
"I Love You," starring Christophe Lambert.
Pausing, she turned to Gideon and gave him a soft smile while holding the remote out in her hand. Smiling broadly, Gideon leaned over and took the remote from her hand, careful not to touch her, and typed in his own movie into the search.
"I Love You Too," with Peter Dinklage.
Excited at their secret messaging system, she took the remote back and typed in another before giving him a serious look.
"Can You Ever Forgive Me?" with Melissa McCarthy.
Jade could see by the hard set of Gideon's jaw, and the hot look that passed through his eyes that there was so much more he wanted to say on the subject, but he relented with a jerking nod.
The sudden buzz from the vibrating phone on the table made them both jump in their seats.
With a hardened expression, Gideon reached forward and snatched the phone off the table and read the screen before rolling his eyes and holding the phone out to her to read with a heavy sigh.
Leaning forward, she read the black text. "I don't like cheaters."
Crossing her arms, Jade sat back against the sofa with a huff.
